Bhutan Men's National Volleyball Team
The Bhutan men's national volleyball team represents Bhutan in international volleyball competitions. It is managed by the Bhutan Volleyball Federation. The national team of Bhutan competes in the South Asian Games. Volleyball isn't as popular as football in Bhutan, but certain number of Bhutanese enjoy playing the game. Although the game is an indoor sport by nature, the games organized by the federation were played mostly outside. This is because the federation did not have an indoor court. Tournaments are conducted at the Changlimithang Stadium in Thimphu. Bhutan (; dz, འབྲུག་ཡུལ་, Druk Yul ), officially the Kingdom of Bhutan,), is a landlocked country in South Asia. South Asian Games
The South Asian Games (SAG or SA Games), formerly known as the South Asian Federation Games (SAFG or SAF Games), is a quadrennial multi-sport event held among the athletes from South Asia. The governing body of these games is South Asia Olympic Council (SAOC), formed in 1983. Currently, the SAOC comprises 7 member countries, namely Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka. Afghanistan participated 4 times in the SAF Games since 2004, but left the SAOC after participating in the 2016th edition and joined CAOC. Changlimithang Stadium
Changlimithang Stadium is a multi-purpose stadium in Thimphu, Bhutan, which serves as the national stadium. It is predominantly used for football matches and is the home of the Bhutan national football team, other national selections and number of Thimphu-based football clubs. The stadium also regularly plays host to women's football, archery tournaments, minifootball and some volleyball matches. Thimphu (; dz, ཐིམ་ཕུག ) is the capital city, capital and largest city of Bhutan. Volleyball is a team sport in which two teams of six players are separated by a net. Each team tries to score points by grounding a ball on the other team's court under organized rules. It has been a part of the official program of the Summer Olympic Games since Tokyo 1964. Beach volleyball was introduced to the programme at the Atlanta 1996. The adapted version of volleyball at the Summer Paralympic Games is sitting volleyball.
