Bhiwandi Rural Assembly Constituency
The Bhiwandi Rural Assembly constituency is one of the 288 Vidhan Sabha (legislative assembly) constituencies of the Maharashtra state in western India. This constituency is located in the Thane district and Palghar district, and was created in 2008 delimitation exercise. Most of the area under it was earlier covered by the erstwhile Wada Assembly constituency. It is a segment of Bhiwandi (Lok Sabha constituency) . Maharashtra Legislative Assembly
The Maharashtra Vidhan Sabha or the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly is the lower house of the legislature of the Indian state of Maharashtra. It is situated in the Nariman Point area of South Mumbai in the capital Mumbai. Presently, 288 members of the Legislative Assembly are directly elected from the single-seat constituencies. The members of the upper house, the Maharashtra Vidhan Parishad (the legislative council) are indirectly elected through an electoral college. Sessions The budget session and the monsoon session are convened in Mumbai whereas the winter session is convened in the auxiliary capital Nagpur. Vishnu Savara
Vishnu Savara (1 June 1950 – 9 December 2020) was a leader of the Indian Bharatiya Janata Party. His parents belonged to a family of farmers residing in the village of Galtare in Wada, a tehsil in Palghar district. Savara, a cabinet minister for tribal development in the government of Maharashtra, was elected to the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly from the Wada constituency in 1990, 1995, 1999, and 2004. In 2009, after delimitation, he won the Bhiwandi Rural Vidhan Sabha election. In the 2014 assembly election, Savara won the Vikramgad Vidhan Sabha seat. Bhiwandi () is a city in the Thane district in Maharashtra, India. It is located northeast of Mumbai and northeast of the city of Thane. The city is a part of the Mumbai Metropolitan Region. 2019 Maharashtra Legislative Assembly Election
The 2019 Maharashtra Legislative Assembly election was held on 21 October 2019 to elect all 288 members of the state's Legislative Assembly. After a 61.4% turnout in the election, the ruling National Democratic Alliance (NDA) of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Shiv Sena (SHS) won a majority. Following differences over the government formation, the alliance was dissolved, precipitating a political crisis. Since a council of ministers had not been formed after no party could manage to form the government, President's rule was imposed in the state. 2014 Maharashtra Legislative Assembly Election
The Indian state of Maharashtra has a bicameral legislature, comprising two houses.
