Salah Abu Seif
Salah Abu Seif ( ar, صلاح أبو سيف, ) (May 10, 1915 – June 23, 1996) was one of the most famous Egyptian film directors, and is considered to be the godfather of Neorealist cinema in Egyptian cinema. Many of the 41 films he directed are considered Egyptian classics with 11 films in the Top 100 Egyptian films list. His film '' The Beginning and the End'' (1960) was the first adaptation of a novel by Nobel Prize winner Naguib Mahfouz. In 1977 he was a member of the jury at the 10th Moscow International Film Festival. Early life Abu-Seif was born in 1915, in Cairo's ancient quarter of Boolaq, to landowning parents from Upper Egypt. He was 12 years old when he saw the first full- length feature film made by an Egyptian, in 1927, at a local movie-house - earlier films were imports accompanied by Egyptian narrations, or made by Europeans living in Egypt. Abdel Salam Al Nabulsy
Abdel Salam Al Nabulsy ( ar, عبد السلام النابلسي) (23 August 1899 – 5 July 1968) was an Egyptian actor of Lebanese-Palestinian origin. Life Nabulsy was born in Tripoli, Lebanon, in 1899, and died 1968 in Beirut. He is known for Egyptian movies in which he co-starred with renowned actors like Ismail Yasin, Abdel Halim Hafez, Faten Hamama and Farid El Atrash Nabulsy studied in Egypt at Al-Azhar University. While there, he developed an interest in acting. He acted on stage for a while and when his family got wind of his new career, they stopped sending him money so that he may focus instead on his studies. Acting afforded Nabulsy a way to earn a living. While he portrayed some evil if not too violent characters, his filmography was generally characterized by comedic roles. He died in Beirut in 1968. Mahmoud el-Meliguy ( arz, محمود المليجي, ; 22 December 1910 – 6 June 1983) was an Egyptian screenwriter and an actor of film, theater, and television. He started his career playing minor roles, but achieved stardom in the late 1930s. A popular and award-winning actor, he has acted in hundreds of films and was famous for his evil, villain roles. Career El-Meliguy is the descendant of an Egyptian family that took its name from the Egyptian city of Melieg in Monufia Governorate. He breakthrough role came when Mohamed Abdel Wahab chose him to star in the film ''Lastu Mallak'' (''I'm Not an Angel''). He was paid 900 Egyptian pounds and quickly achieved stardom. People praised him for the villain role he played in that film, and film critics described him as “the wickedness of cinema”. Abdel Moneim Madbouly
Abdel Moneim Madbouly ( ar, عبد المنعم مدبولي, December 28, 1921 – July 9, 2006) was an Egyptian actor, comedian and playwright. Biography Madbouly was born in Cairo and started acting at seven years old following the death of his father, as his family needed the money. Later on, he joined Fatma Rushdi's troupe of actors before joining the theatre of renowned Lebanese actor George Abyad. Madbouly had an extensive career and is considered one of the greatest in the history of Egyptian and Arabic entertainment industry. He wrote, directed and acted in numerous plays, films and TV roles. His unique comedy style of depicting heartbroken old men was called ''Madboulism'', and is much imitated by other performers from the middle east region.
