Bertolucci
Bernardo Bertolucci (; 16 March 1941 – 26 November 2018) was an Italian film director and screenwriter with a career that spanned 50 years. Considered one of the greatest directors in Italian cinema, Bertolucci's work achieved international acclaim. He was the first Italian filmmaker to win the Academy Award for Best Director for '' The Last Emperor'' (1987), one of many accolades including two Golden Globes, two David di Donatellos, a British Academy Award, and a César Award. In recognition of his work, he was presented with the inaugural Honorary Palme d'Or Award at the opening ceremony of the 2011 Cannes Film Festival. He had previously received a Lifetime Achievement Golden Lion from the Venice Film Festival. A protégé of Pier Paolo Pasolini, Bertolucci made his directorial debut at 22. Attilio Bertolucci (18 November 1911 – 14 June 2000) was an Italian poet and writer. He was father to film directors Bernardo and Giuseppe Bertolucci. Biography Bertolucci was born at San Lazzaro ( province of Parma), to a family of agricultural bourgeoisie. He began to write poems very early. In 1928 he collaborated with the ''Gazzetta di Parma'', where his friend Cesare Zavattini was editor-in-chief. The following year Bertolucci published his first poetical collection, ''Sirio''. In 1931 he started studying law at the University of Parma, which however he left soon afterwards in favour of artistic and literary studies. Maria-Hélène Schneider (27 March 1952 – 3 February 2011), known professionally as Maria Schneider, was a French actress. Clare Peploe
Clare Peploe (20 October 1941 – 23 June 2021) was a British-Italian screenwriter, producer, and film director. Biography Peploe was born in Tanzania but grew up in the United Kingdom and Italy. William Peploe, her father, worked as a British civil servant before becoming an art dealer and then director of London's Lefevre Gallery. Clotilde Brewster Peploe, her mother, was an artist. Her younger brother is writer-director Mark Peploe. Peploe studied at the Sorbonne and the University of Perugia.
