Bertram Johnson (November 4, 1905 – January 9, 1976) was an American Negro league outfielder in the 1930s. A native of Round Rock, Texas, Johnson attended Prairie View A&M University. He made his Negro leagues debut in 1932 with the Washington Pilots. He went on to play for the Baltimore Black Sox and Newark Dodgers, and finished his career as an East–West All-Star Game selection in 1938 with the Birmingham Black Barons The Birmingham Black Barons were a Negro league baseball team that played from 1920 until 1960. Bert Johnson (footballer, Born 1916)
William Herbert Johnson (4 June 1916 – 30 June 2009), was an English football player, manager, and coach who played as a wing half in the Football League. He played in both the 1946 FA Cup Final for Charlton Athletic. Matt Gillies brought Johnson on as a coach at Leicester City in 1959. He was originally signed as head scout, but soon become Gillies' assistant manager. He was influential in the signing of both Dave Gibson and Mike Stringfellow, both of whom would become key figure in Leicester's success during the 1960s. Johnson is often credited as having come up with a tactical innovation of switching the positions of Frank McLintock and Graham Cross, upsetting the traditional 1-11 formation. This hugely influenced Liverpool manager Bill Shankly. Bertram Harold "Bert" Johnson (born 8 June 1939) is a former Australian rules footballer who played with West Adelaide in the South Australian National Football League (SANFL) and North Melbourne in the Victorian Football League (VFL). Biography Johnson, an Indigenous Australian from the Nepabunna Mission in rural South Australia, has been described as one of the most exciting footballers of his generation. He played mostly on the wing, but was also a capable centreman. After Johnson came to Adelaide he was taken by West Adelaide player Doug Thomas for a trial with the club and made his SANFL debut in the 1957 season. On a wing in West Adelaide's 1961 Grand Final winning team, Johnson was the first indigenous footballer to play in a SANFL premiership. He represented South Australia at interstate football in 1964. Bert Johnson (born March 13, 1939) is a politician in Ontario, Canada. He was a Progressive Conservative member of the Legislative Assembly of Ontario from 1995 to 2003. Background Johnson was educated at Stratford Teacher's College, and worked as an insurance and real-estate salesman before entering political life. He was a member of the Listowel, Ontario Planning Board from 1972 to 1976, and the Listowel Public Utilities Commission from 1978 to 1984. From 1984 to 1988, Johnson served as a member of the Perth County Board of Education, becoming its Vice-Chair in 1987. He then served as Mayor of Listowel from 1988 to 1994, and was a director of the Association of Municipalities of Ontario during his final year. Johnson has also served as a trustee of the Trinity United Church in Listowel. Bertram "Bert" Johnson (born October 20, 1973) is a Democratic former member of the Michigan Senate and a convicted criminal. Johnson previously represented the 2nd district, which comprises northeast Detroit, Highland Park, Hamtramck, Harper Woods and all five Grosse Pointe Communities. Aboriginal Tent Embassy
The Aboriginal Tent Embassy is a permanent protest occupation site as a focus for representing the political rights of Aboriginal Australians and Torres Strait Islander people. Established on 26 January (Australia Day) 1972, and celebrating its 50th anniversary in 2022, it is the longest continuous protest for Indigenous land rights in the world. First established in 1972 under a beach umbrella as a protest against the McMahon government's approach to Indigenous Australian land rights, the Aboriginal Tent Embassy is made up of signs and tents. Since 1992 it has been located on the lawn opposite Old Parliament House in Canberra, the Australian capital. It is not considered an official embassy by the Australian Government.
