Bernstein Prize
The Bernstein Prize is an annual Israeli literary award for writers 50 years of age and younger. Hebrew Language
Hebrew (; ; ) is a Northwest Semitic language of the Afroasiatic language family. Historically, it is one of the spoken languages of the Israelites and their longest-surviving descendants, the Jews and Samaritans. It was largely preserved throughout history as the main liturgical language of Judaism (since the Second Temple period) and Samaritanism. Hebrew is the only Canaanite language still spoken today, and serves as the only truly successful example of a dead language that has been revived. It is also one of only two Northwest Semitic languages still in use, with the other being Aramaic. The earliest examples of written Paleo-Hebrew date back to the 10th century BCE. Dorit Rabinyan
Dorit Rabinyan ( he, דורית רביניאן; born September 25, 1972) is an Israeli writer and screenwriter. Biography She was born in Kfar Saba, Israel, to an Iranian-Jewish family. She has published three novels, two of which have been widely translated. She has also published a poetry collection and an illustrated children's book. She also writes for television. Her first novel, ''Persian Brides'', won the Jewish Quarterly-Wingate Prize in 1999. She was a close friend of Palestinian artist Hasan Hourani, and wrote a eulogy for him in ''The Guardian'' after his death in 2003. Her 2014 novel, '' Gader Haya'' (initially known as ''Borderlife'' in English, later published as ''All the Rivers''), which tells a love story between an Israeli woman and a Palestinian man, has become the center of controversy. Roy Hasan
Roy Hasan (Hebrew: רועי חסן) (born 9 April 1983, in Hadera, Israel) is an Israeli contemporary Hebrew poet. He is a principal member of the Ars poetica literary movement.
