Berlanti (film)
''Berlanti'' ( arz, برلنتي) is a 1944 Egyptian drama film written, directed by and starring Youssef Wahbi and Nour Al Hoda. Synopsis After the death Berlanti's father, she became depressed and her mother becomes ill, so Berlanti is forced to work as a singer so that she can be psy for her mother’s treatment. The lawyer Sami marries her. Berlanti sees that she is standing in the way of Sami's success. She sacrifices her reputation so that he can leave her. He believes this and expels her and they got divorced. He marries the Samiha anfter and then Berlanti is accused of murder. And Samy steps up to defend her. Youssef Wahbi
Youssef Abdallah Wahbi Qotb ( ar, يوسف عبد الله هديب وهبي قطب) (14 July 1902 – 17 October 1982) was an Egyptian stage and film actor and director, a leading star of the 1930s and 1940s and one of the most prominent Egyptian stage actors of any era, who also served on the jury of the Cannes Film Festival in 1946. He was born to a high state official in Egypt but renounced his family's wealth and traveled to Rome in the 1920s to study theatre. Besides his stage work, he acted in about 50 films, starting with ''Awlad al-Zawat'' (''Sons of Aristocrats''; 1932) to "Iskanderiya... lih?" (''Alexandria... Why?'', 1978). Mahmoud El-Meliguy
Mahmoud el-Meliguy ( arz, محمود المليجي, ; 22 December 1910 – 6 June 1983) was an Egyptian screenwriter and an actor of film, theater, and television. He started his career playing minor roles, but achieved stardom in the late 1930s. A popular and award-winning actor, he has acted in hundreds of films and was famous for his evil, villain roles. Career El-Meliguy is the descendant of an Egyptian family that took its name from the Egyptian city of Melieg in Monufia Governorate. He breakthrough role came when Mohamed Abdel Wahab chose him to star in the film ''Lastu Mallak'' (''I'm Not an Angel''). He was paid 900 Egyptian pounds and quickly achieved stardom. People praised him for the villain role he played in that film, and film critics described him as “the wickedness of cinema”. Zeinat Sedki (May 4, 1912 - March 2, 1978) was an Egyptian actress and comedian. She was one of the female comedy pioneers in the Egyptian cinema along with Mary Mounib and Widad Hamdi. Biography Zeinat Zedki was born Zeinab Mohamed Mosaad the May 4, 1912 in Alexandria, Egypt. She married a much older man at the age of 15 after her father forced her to drop out of school. She divorced a year later. after the death of her father, she began her career as a belly dancer, and joined an association of artists in the early 1930s. She ran away from home and joined a comedy theater troupe formed by Naguib el-Rihani where she performed a range of successful plays, among which was The Egyptian Pound (el Guineih el Masrî) in 1931. El-Rihani gave her the stage name Zeinat Sedki instead of her birth name Zeinab Mohamed Saad. Abdel Salam Al Nabulsy ( ar, عبد السلام النابلسي) (23 August 1899 – 5 July 1968) was an Egyptian actor of Lebanese-Palestinian origin. Life Nabulsy was born in Tripoli, Lebanon, in 1899, and died 1968 in Beirut. He is known for Egyptian movies in which he co-starred with renowned actors like Ismail Yasin, Abdel Halim Hafez, Faten Hamama and Farid El Atrash Nabulsy studied in Egypt at Al-Azhar University. While there, he developed an interest in acting. He acted on stage for a while and when his family got wind of his new career, they stopped sending him money so that he may focus instead on his studies. Acting afforded Nabulsy a way to earn a living. While he portrayed some evil if not too violent characters, his filmography was generally characterized by comedic roles. He died in Beirut in 1968. Bishara Wakim (Arabic: بشارة واكيم) (March 5, 1890 – November 30, 1949) Egyptian director and actor born in Faggala, Cairo in 1890. Career His real name is Bisharah Yoakim educated in Collège-des-Frères (Bab-El-Louk), he was a Greek Catholic, in 1917 graduated from the School of Law and he started his life as a lawyer. Alwiya Gamil
Alwiya Gamil ( ar, علوية جميل) was an Egyptian actress of Lebanese origin whose real name was Elisabeth Khalil Majdalani. She was born in Lebanon on December 15, 1910 and immigrated with her parents to Egypt. Career Gamil began her career at the age of 15 when she joined Youssef Wahbi's performing group Ramesses in 1925. It is believed that Wahbi gave her the stage name. Gamil is known for her leading roles in ''Zeinab'' (1930), '' Victory of Youth'' (1941), '' Berlanti'' (1944), and ''No Agreement'' (1961) ''The Cursed Palace'' (1962). She retired in 1967.
