Rhein-Lahn
Rhein-Lahn-Kreis is a district (''Kreis'') in the east of Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany. Neighboring districts are (from north clockwise) Westerwaldkreis, Limburg-Weilburg, Rheingau-Taunus, Mainz-Bingen, Rhein-Hunsrück, Mayen-Koblenz, and the district-free city Koblenz. History With the Congress of Vienna the area was added to the Nassau (duchy), duchy of Nassau. When Nassau lost independence in 1866 it was added to Prussia, who then in 1867 created the ''Regierungsbezirk Wiesbaden'', and as parts of it the two districts Rheingaukreis and Unterlahnkreis. The Rheingaukreis became the district St. Goarshausen in 1885. In 1969 the two districts were merged into the new Rhein-Lahn district. Aar-Einrich is a ''Verbandsgemeinde'' ("collective municipality") in the Rhein-Lahn-Kreis, in Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany. Its seat is in Katzenelnbogen. It was formed on 1 July 2019 by the merger of the former ''Verbandsgemeinden'' Hahnstätten and Katzenelnbogen. It takes its name from the river Aar and the Einrich hills. Rudolf Diels
Rudolf Diels (16 December 1900 – 18 November 1957) was a German civil servant and head of the Gestapo in 1933–34. He obtained the rank of SS-''Oberführer'' and was a protégé of Hermann Göring. Early life Diels was born in Berghausen in the Taunus, the son of a farmer. He went to school in Wiesbaden. He served in the army towards the end of World War I and was posted in Haguenau, Alsace in an intelligence role. After the war, he studied law at the University of Marburg from 1919. At university he had a reputation as a drinker and philanderer. While there he also received a number of dueling scars resulting from the academic fencing once practised by young upper-class Austrians and Germans. The (), abbreviated Gestapo (; ), was the official secret police of Nazi Germany and in German-occupied Europe. The force was created by Hermann Göring in 1933 by combining the various political police agencies of Prussia into one organisation.
