Benoit Groulx (Canadian Football)
Benoit Groulx (born March 6, 1985 in Montreal, Quebec) is a former Canadian football quarterback and was an offensive coordinator and quarterback coach for the Bishop's Gaiters of the Canadian Interuniversity Sport. He played five years as a quarterback in CIS football for the Laval Rouge et Or. Groulx grew up in Montreal. He attended the Cégep du Vieux Montréal and played for the Vieux Montréal Spartiates winning the Bol D'or 3 times and twice being named most valuable player in the CEGEP AAA league, before enrolling at Université Laval to study sports administration. A CEGEP ( or ; ), also written cégep, CÉGEP and cegep, is a publicly funded college providing technical, academic, vocational or a mix of programs; they are exclusive to the province of Quebec's education system. Jeff Russel Memorial Trophy
The Jeff Russel Memorial Trophy is a Canadian football award recognizing the most outstanding football player of the Quebec Student Sport Federation (RESQ) The trophy was originally presented to the player who best exemplified skill, sportsmanship, and courage in the Interprovincial Rugby Football Union. In 1973, it became the award to the Most Outstanding Player of the Canadian Football League's East Division and either the winner of this trophy or the winner of the Jeff Nicklin Memorial Trophy from the West would go on to win the CFL's Most Outstanding Player Award. The Dunsmore Cup (french: Coupe Dunsmore) is a Canadian sports trophy, presented annually to the winner of the university-level football competition conducted by Réseau du sport étudiant du Québec (RSEQ), the governing body for all student sports in the province of Quebec. The RSEQ university football conference, one of four within U Sports, was known as the Quebec University Football League before the 2011 season. The Cup was first awarded in 1980 to the winner of the Ontario-Quebec Interuniversity Football Conference and, upon re-organization into the Quebec Intercollegiate Football Conference (later the Quebec University Football League and now part of RSEQ), continues to be awarded as the Quebec conference's championship. Quebec University Football League
The Quebec University Football League was the Canadian football conference for Quebec universities who participate in CIS football until the completion of the 2010 football season. It has since been renamed Réseau du sport étudiant du Québec football, or noted by the acronym RSEQ. The champion is awarded the Dunsmore Cup and moves on to compete in a national semi-final Bowl game against one of the other three CIS football conferences. Glen Constantin
Glen Constantin (born December 23, 1964) is the current head coach of the Université Laval football team, the Laval Rouge et Or, a position he has held since 2001. He has won 11 Vanier Cups with the team, including 10 as head coach which is the most by a single head coach in U Sports football history. He was named coach of the year in 2005 and in 2010. As head coach, Constantin has an all-time record of 185-30 (134–21 in regular season; 52–11 in playoffs), with 14 Quebec championships as of 2019. In 2010, the Rouge et Or won the Vanier Cup against the Calgary Dinos, 29–2, after thirteen straight victories, which was a first in CIS football history.
