Beneath (Infant Island Album)
''Beneath'' is the third studio album by the American screamo band Infant Island. It was released on May 15, 2020, through Dog Knights Productions. It was produced by Matthew Michel of Majority Rule at his studio in Dunn Loring, Virginia. The album features a guest vocal performance from Logan Rivera of Gillian Carter. "Death Portrait" is a re-recording of a song which originally appeared on the band's 4-way split ''Hymnes aux Désarrois de la Peau''. The album was critically acclaimed at the time of its release, and was named one of the best albums of the year by BrooklynVegan and Impose. Infant Island is an American screamo band formed in Fredericksburg, Virginia in 2016. The band consists of vocalist Daniel Kost, guitarists Alexander Rudenshiold and Winston Givler, bassist Kyle Guerra, and drummer Austin O'Rourke. History Formation and ''Infant Island'' (2016–2018) Infant Island was formed in the summer 2016 by vocalist Daniel Kost, guitarist Alexander Rudenshiold, bassist Kyle Guerra, and drummer James Rakestraw. On August 1, 2018, in advance of a U.S. and Canada tour, they released their self-titled debut album to critical acclaim. ''The End of the World'', commonly known as ''The Great Day of His Wrath'', is an 1851–1853 oil painting on canvas by the English painter John Martin. Leopold Martin, John Martin's son, said that his father found the inspiration for this painting on a night journey through the Black Country. This has led some scholars to hold that the rapid industrialisation of England in the early nineteenth century influenced Martin. ''Sadak in Search of the Waters of Oblivion'' is an 1812 oil painting by John Martin. It has been called "the most famous of the British romantic works"; it was the first of Martin's characteristically dramatic, grand, grandiose large pictures, and anchored the development of the style for which Martin would become famous. The painting shows a human figure climbing in a mountain landscape. The man struggles to surmount a rocky outcrop beside a pool and waterfall; more jagged cliffs and peaks loom in the background, vastly receding. John Martin (19 July 1789 – 17 February 1854) was an English Romanticism, Romantic painter, engraver and illustrator. He was celebrated for his typically vast and dramatic paintings of religious subjects and fantasy art, fantastic compositions, populated with minute figures placed in imposing landscapes. Bradley Boatright (born 1976) is an American musician, record producer, and mastering engineer based in Portland, Oregon. Boatright is known for his work as a guitarist and vocalist in From Ashes Rise and The Cooters, and as a mastering engineer at Audiosiege, credited on recordings by Off!, American Standards, Sleep, Noothgrush, Pierced Arrows, and more. On December 25, 2011, he launched his own recording label, Audiosiege Media, which is a division of Moshpit Tragedy Records.
