Ben Kennedy (rugby League)
Ben "BK" Kennedy (born 14 March 1974) is an Australian former professional rugby league footballer who played in the 1990s and 2000s. A New South Wales State of Origin and Australian international representative forward, he played his club football for the Canberra Raiders, Newcastle Knights (with whom he won the 2001 NRL Premiership) and the Manly Warringah Sea Eagles. Early life Kennedy was born in Casino, New South Wales, Australia. Kennedy played First XV rugby union at St. Joseph's College, Hunters Hill when he transferred to grade 12 from Casino High School, and was selected in the Australian Schoolboys side. He switched to rugby league, playing for the Casino Cougars. Playing career Kennedy started his post-school career playing rugby union for three years with the Manly Marlins in the Shute Shield. Ben Kennedy (born 3 March 1994) is a former professional Australian rules footballer who played for the Collingwood Football Club and Melbourne Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL). A small forward, tall and weighing , Kennedy is able to contribute as a crumbing forward and is also capable of moving into the midfield. He played top-level football from a young age by representing South Australia from fifteen years of age, including as a bottom aged player in the 2011 AFL Under 18 Championships, and playing in 's senior side in the South Australian National Football League (SANFL) at seventeen. Benjamin Kennedy (born 14 February 1987) is an Australian professional soccer player who plays as a goalkeeper for Lambton Jaffas in the National Premier Leagues Northern NSW. Club career Newcastle Jets Kennedy was a train-on player for the Newcastle Jets, but was brought into the full squad for the 2006–07 season. Until half-way through the season, Newcastle only had the inexperienced Kennedy as a registered goalkeeper in their squad, until former Socceroo Ante Covic joined the squad. Kennedy became the Jets first-choice goalkeeper for the 2009–10 season thanks to some strong performances in the 2009 AFC Champions League, after the departure of Ante Covic to Sweden.
