Ben Johnston (rugby Union)
Ben Johnston (born 8 November 1978 in Clatterbridge, Bebington, Merseyside) is an English rugby union footballer who currently coaches and occasionally plays at centre for Old Georgians R.F.C. in Surrey Counties League. Johnston started his professional career at Saracens in 1998. His form in his first couple of seasons led to selection for the Tour of South Africa in 2000. Whilst he did not feature in a Test, he did play in a tour match against the Gauteng Falcons. Johnston was selected for the 2002 tour of Argentina, making his debut against Los Pumas. His second and final cap came in a victory over New Zealand at Twickenham. Johnston also represented England Saxons England A is England's men's second national rugby union team. Clatterbridge
Clatterbridge is a hamlet (place), hamlet on the Wirral Peninsula, in the Metropolitan Borough of Wirral, Merseyside, England. It is to the south-west of Bebington and close to the M53 motorway. Cap (sport)
In sport, a cap is a player's appearance in a game at international level. The term dates from the practice in the United Kingdom of awarding a cap to every player in an international match of rugby football and association football. In the early days of football, the concept of each team wearing a set of matching shirts had not been universally adopted, so each side would distinguish itself from the other by wearing a specific sort of cap. An early illustration of the first international football match between Scotland and England in 1872 shows the Scottish players wearing cowls, and the English wearing a variety of school caps. 2006 Churchill Cup
The 2006 Churchill Cup was a rugby union competition played between the second teams of various top tier international rugby nations and the first teams of traditionally less prominent teams, such as Canada and the United States. The 2006 tournament began on June 3 and ended on June 17. The 2006 competition marked the fourth year of the Churchill Cup as well as its expansion from four to six teams.
