Ben Evans (rugby League)
Ben Evans (born 30 October 1992), also known by the nickname of "Bev", is a Welsh professional rugby league footballer who plays as a for the Barrow Raiders in the Betfred Championship and Wales at international level. He has previously played for the Warrington Wolves in the Super League, and on loan from Warrington at Bradford in the top flight, at the Leigh Centurions in the Championship and the Rochdale Hornets in League 1. Evans has also played for the London Broncos and Toulouse Olympique in the Championship. Background Evans was born in Bridgend, Wales. He is the twin brother of the rugby league footballer; Rhys Evans. England National Rugby League Team
The England national rugby league team represents England in international rugby league. The team, largely formed from the Great Britain team which also represented Wales and Scotland, is run under the auspices of the Rugby Football League. It participates in the Rugby League World Cup, Four Nations and Test matches. The team dates to 1904, when they played against a mixture of Welsh and Scottish players in Wigan. Until the 1950s, they regularly toured Australia and New Zealand and played both home and away matches against neighbours Wales and France, but when it was decided that Great Britain would tour the Southern Hemisphere instead of England, France and Wales became the only regular opponents. The France national rugby league team represent France in international rugby league matches. They are referred to as ''les Chanticleers'' or less commonly as ''les Tricolores''. The team is run under the auspices of the Fédération Française de Rugby à XIII. The French rugby league team first played in 1934 on a tour of England. They have taken part in all World Cups, 16 in total, with the first being held in 1954 in France. They have never won the title but finished runners-up in both 1954 and 1968. These are often considered the glory years of French rugby league as from the 1950s to the 1970s the team were strong and regularly beat Australia, New Zealand and Great Britain.
