Ben Carter (February 10, 1910/1907 – December 12, 1946) was an American actor and casting agent. He appeared in numerous Hollywood feature films including ''The Harvey Girls'', '' Dixie Jamboree'', and '' Born to Sing''. Early life Carter was born in Fairfield, Iowa. His father was a barber and his mother was a housemaid. He graduated from high school in Aurora, Illinois. Career Carter headed to Los Angeles to work in movies. As a booking agent he focused on African American performers in New York City and Los Angeles. He was one of the first African American performers to land a seven-year contract at 20th Century-Fox. He opened his agency office in 1935. Carter appeared in ''Gone With the Wind'' (1939) as well as casting all the other African American actors and actresses in it, ''Maryland'' (1940) and ''Tin Pan Alley'' (1940). Ben Ammi Ben-Israel ( he, בן עמי בן-ישראל; October 12, 1939 – December 27, 2014) was the American-born founder and spiritual leader of the African Hebrew Israelites of Jerusalem. Biography Ben Carter (later Ben Ammi Ben-Israel) was born in Chicago, Illinois, to a Baptist family. After dropping out of high school, Carter served three years in the United States Army, where he earned an equivalency degree. After Carter was discharged from the Army, he worked as a metallurgist at Chicago's Howard Foundry. In 1961, a co-worker introduced him to the idea that African Americans are descendants of the Biblical Israelites. Carter began to attend meetings of black Israelite groups, and was given a Hebrew name, Ben Ammi Ben-Israel. According to the Hebrew Israelite community, in 1966, Ben Ammi received a vision from the angel Gabriel, who told him to lead African-Americans to Israel. Evile
Evile are an English thrash metal band from Huddersfield, formed in 2004. They have experienced numerous line-up changes over the years, with drummer Ben Carter being the only member of the original line-up to have stayed consistently. The current line-up consists of Carter, lead guitarist and vocalist Ol Drake, bassist Joel Graham, and rhythm guitarist Adam Smith, who replaced Drake's older brother Matt in 2020. Evile are notable for being part of the thrash metal resurgence movement of the mid-to-late 2000s, and they were highly praised by ''Kerrang!'' for "Carrying the genre's whole 'revival' on their shoulders." Ben Joshua Carter (בן קרטר; born August 22, 1994) is an American-Israeli basketball player for Hapoel Eilat of the Israel Basketball Premier League. He plays the power forward position. Early and personal life Carter was born in Tel Aviv, Israel, and is Jewish. He said that the fact that he is Israeli "means a lot.
