Ben Anderson (rugby League)
Ben Anderson (born 3 February 1978) is an Australian former professional rugby league footballer who played in the 1990s and coached in the 2000s. He played for the Melbourne Storm from 1998 to 1999. He is the son of Chris Anderson. Early life Anderson played junior rugby league for Chipping Norton Kangaroos and was educated at De LaSalle Bankstown. In 1997, Anderson played for the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs in the under 19s before signing a two-year contract with Melbourne. Playing career He made his NRL debut in round 4 of the 1998 NRL season, starting from the interchange in Melbourne Storm's first game at Olympic Park. He made four appearances in total that season. However, he spent most of the 1998 season playing with Melbourne's feeder team, the Norths Devils, before requiring a knee reconstruction. 1999 NRL Season
The 1999 NRL season was the 92nd season of professional rugby league football in Australia, and the second to be run by the National Rugby League. With the exclusion of the Adelaide Rams and Gold Coast Chargers, and the joint venture of the St. George Dragons and Illawarra Steelers, seventeen teams competed for the NRL Premiership during the 1999 season, which culminated in the first grand final to be played at Stadium Australia. The St. George Illawarra Dragons, the first joint-venture club to appear in the grand final, played against the Melbourne Storm, who won the premiership in only their second season. Ben Barba (born 13 June 1989) is an Australian former professional rugby league footballer who last played for St Helens in the Super League. He primarily played as a or . He was banned by both the NRL and Rugby Football League in February 2019 following an assault on his partner. Barba won the Dally M Medal award for Player of the Year in 2012 while he was at the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs. Barba also played for the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs, the Brisbane Broncos in 2014 and the Cronulla-Sutherland Sharks where he was part of Cronulla's maiden NRL premiership win in the 2016 NRL Grand Final. In 2018, he won the Man of Steel Award for Super League Player of the Year while playing for St Helens. The Tweed Heads Seagulls, often referred to simply as Tweed or Seagulls or Tweed Seagulls, is a rugby league club based in Tweed Heads, New South Wales. It is one of only two non-Queensland teams to play in the Queensland Cup, along with the PNG Hunters. The Northern Suburbs Devils, or North Brisbane Devils, or often simply referred to as Norths for short, are a rugby league club representing the northern suburbs of Brisbane, Australia.
