Belles On Their Toes (film)
''Belles on Their Toes'' is a 1952 American family comedy film based on the autobiographical book ''Belles on Their Toes'' (1950) by siblings Frank Bunker Gilbreth Jr. and Ernestine Gilbreth Carey. The film, which debuted in New York City on May 2, 1952, was directed by Henry Levin, and Henry Ephron and Phoebe Ephron wrote the screenplay. It is a sequel to the film ''Cheaper by the Dozen'' (1950), based on Gilbreth and Carey's eponymous 1948 book. Synopsis ''Belles on Their Toes'' recounts the story of the Gilbreth family after the death of efficiency expert Frank Gilbreth Sr., husband of Dr. Lillian Gilbreth and father to twelve children. Henry Levin (film Director)
Henry Levin (5 June 1909 – 1 May 1980) began as a stage actor and director but was most notable as an American film director of over fifty feature films. His best known credits were ''Jolson Sings Again'' (1949), ''Journey to the Center of the Earth (1959 film), Journey to the Center of the Earth'' (1959) and ''Where the Boys Are'' (1960). Biography Acting Levin began as an actor. He was on Broadway in ''Somewhere in France'' (1941) and appeared in summer stock in ''Cuckoos on the Hearth'' (1941). Verna Arline Felton (July 20, 1890December 14, 1966) was an American actress, best known for providing many voices in numerous Disney animated films. Thomas Anthony Sydes (May 4, 1941 – June 20, 2015) was an American child actor on film and television. Biography Sydes was born May 4, 1941, in North Hollywood, California. He was the son of Thomas and Ruth Sydes, and he had a brother, Jonathan, and two sisters, Debbie and Carol. Sydes made his film debut in '' Claudia and David'' (1946). Ernestine Moller Gilbreth, Mrs. Carey (April 5, 1908 – November 4, 2006) was an American writer. Early life and education Ernestine Moller Gilbreth was born in New York City on April 5, 1908. She was the daughter of Frank B. and Lillian (Moller) Gilbreth, early scientific management experts and early 20th-century pioneers of time and motion study and what would now be called organizational behavior.
