Bell Island (The Bahamas)
Bell Island is a private island inside the Exuma Cays Land and Sea Park, in the island archipelago of the Exumas, which is in turn part of the Lucayan Archipelago. As of 2021, it was a territory of The Bahamas. The island has a surface of 349 acres. Sometimes the island is called Big Bell Island, and it is not to be confused with nearby Little Bell, which is also known as Cambridge Cay. Bell Island features a heliport and two large homes amid extensive landscaping, in addition to employee housing, etc. Three large guest cottages were renovated at a cost of $8 million, as designed by architects and interior designers of renown. The island was purchased for $100 million in 2009 and it is controlled by the Agha Khan. The Lucayan Archipelago (named for the original native Lucayan people), also known as the Bahama Archipelago, is an island group comprising the Commonwealth of The Bahamas and the British Overseas Territory of the Turks and Caicos Islands. The archipelago is in the western North Atlantic Ocean, north of Cuba and the other Antilles, and east and southeast of Florida. William Keegan writes: "Modern political considerations aside, the islands form a single archipelago with common geological, ecological, and cultural roots." Bell Island (Newfoundland And Labrador)
Bell Island is an island that is part of Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada's easternmost province. With an area of 34 km2, it is by far the largest island in Conception Bay, a large bay in the southeast of the island of Newfoundland. The provincial capital of St. John's is less than 20 km to the east. The coastline of Bell Island consists almost entirely of cliffs that tower up to 45 m above the surf and also has several special rock formations. The island is home to four settlements with a total of over 2000 inhabitants. The vast majority of them live in the main settlement of Wabana, which can be reached from Newfoundland via a ferry connection to Portugal Cove. Bell Island is one of the Grey Islands, located off Newfoundland's Great Northern Peninsula to the east in the Atlantic Ocean. With an area of 88 km2. The island is hilly, rising to over 152 m. Bell Island, or Bell's Island (unofficial) is an island in New Zealand. It functions as a wastewater treatment plant for the nearby city of Nelson and town of Richmond. Bell Island is a low-lying triangular island, being formed from a raised sandbank in the delta of the Waimea River. It lies to the west of the city of Nelson in the Waimea Inlet, an arm of Tasman Bay / Te Tai-o-Aorere, at the northern end of the South Island. It lies immediately south of the larger Rabbit Island and northeast of Best Island. The island is dominated by the treatment ponds of the sewage plant, which cover much of the east of the island. At the western end, a long narrow spit extends into the mouth of the Waimea River. A smaller, unnamed island and wide sandbank protrude into the inlet at the eastern end of the island.
