''Believe in Me'' is the fifth studio album by American singer Regina Belle. It was released by MCA Records on June 9, 1998, in the United States. Belle's first and only release with MCA, she worked with producer and songwriter Erik "E-Smooth" Hicks on the majority of the album. ''Believe in Me'' received generally positive reviews but became her lowest-charting album yet, peaking at number 42 on the US Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums. It earned a Grammy Award nomination for Best Traditional R&B Vocal Album in 1999, and produced the singles, "I've Had Enough" and "Don't Let Go." Regina Elaine Belle (born July 17, 1963) is an American singer-songwriter who started her career in the mid-1980s. Known for her singles " Baby Come to Me" (1989) and "Make It Like It Was" (1990), Belle's most notable for two hit duets, both with Peabo Bryson: " Without You", the love theme from the comedy film ''Leonard Part 6'', recorded in 1987 and "A Whole New World", the main theme of the Disney's animated feature film ''Aladdin'', recorded in 1992, with which Belle and Bryson won the Grammy award. Contemporary R&B (or simply R&B) is a popular music genre that combines rhythm and blues with elements of pop, soul, funk, hip hop, and electronic music. MCA Records was an American record label owned by MCA Inc., which later became part of Universal Music Group. Pre-history MCA Inc., a powerful talent agency and a television production company, entered the recorded music business in 1962 with the purchase of the New York-based US Decca Records (established in 1934), including Coral Records and Brunswick Records. Bernard Belle
Bernard Belle (November 12, 1964 – June 23, 2022) was an American composer, producer, and musician. After starting his career as an R&B guitarist, Belle became known as a songwriter for Michael Jackson and Whitney Houston and a producer of gospel music. Career Belle grew up in Englewood, New Jersey, and performed as a musician while still a student at Dwight Morrow High School. Belle received his first break in the late 1980s. His sister, Regina Belle, a Grammy Award-winning singer who was providing background vocals for R&B group The Manhattans at the time, recommended him to play guitar for the group.
