''Believe in Him'' is a gospel music, gospel album and 71st overall album by American country music, country singer Johnny Cash, released on Word Records in 1986. It features acoustic arrangements of classic gospel songs. The tracks were originally recorded in 1982 for a planned album release on the CBS Records International, Columbia Records subsidiary label, Priority Records, under the title ''Johnny Cash - Gospel Singer.'' This album was cancelled when parent CBS Records shut down Priority, and the tracks remained unreleased until issued as ''Believe in Him'' by Word records. It is notable as the first album of original material to be released by Cash after leaving Columbia Records though, as noted, he originally recorded the tracks for the company. Sun Records is an American independent record label founded by producer Sam Phillips in Memphis, Tennessee in February 1952. Sun was the first label to record Elvis Presley, Charlie Rich, Roy Orbison, Jerry Lee Lewis, Carl Perkins, and Johnny Cash. David Briggs (American Musician)
David Paul Briggs (born March 16, 1943 in Killen, Alabama, United States) is an American keyboardist, record producer, arranger, composer, and studio owner. Briggs is one of an elite core of Nashville studio musicians known as "the Nashville Cats" and has been featured in a major exhibition by the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2015. He played his first recording session at the age of 14 and has gone on to add keyboards to a plethora of pop, rock, and country artists, as well as recording hundreds of corporate commercials. Robert "Bob" Wootton (March 4, 1942 – April 9, 2017) was an American guitarist. He joined Johnny Cash's backing band, the Tennessee Three, after original lead guitarist Luther Perkins died in a house fire. He remained Cash's guitarist for nearly thirty years.
