Career Morley began his acting career in a traveling vaudeville act and performed in dramas with stock theater companies for five years. Bartlett Carré (July 10, 1897 – April 26, 1971) was involved in the film industry during five decades, spanning both the silent and sound film eras. He spent most of that time in production capacities, either as a production supervisor or manager, associate producer, or assistant director. He appeared in numerous films, mostly in small uncredited roles, or as a stunt man, but he did have one starring role in the 1925 silent film, '' Flying Hoofs'', and directed the 1935 film, '' Gun Smoke''. Otto Lederer (April 17, 1886 – September 3, 1965) was a Czech-American film actor. He appeared in 120 films between 1912 and 1933, most notably '' The Jazz Singer'', the first full-length film to have sound sequences, and the Laurel and Hardy short ''You're Darn Tootin'''. In 1925, Lederer married Segunda Yriondo. They were divorced on July 10, 1929. He later married actress Gretchen Lederer. Otto is entombed at Forest Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery. A silent film is a film with no synchronized Sound recording and reproduction, recorded sound (or more generally, no audible dialogue). Though silent films convey narrative and emotion visually, various plot elements (such as a setting or era) or key lines of dialogue may, when necessary, be conveyed by the use of intertitle, title cards. The term "silent film" is something of a misnomer, as these films were almost always accompanied by live sounds. During the silent era that existed from the mid-1890s to the late 1920s, a piano, pianist, theatre organ, theater organist—or even, in large cities, a small orchestra—would often play music to accompany the films.
