Beginning Of The End (Status Quo Song)
"Beginning of the End" is a single released by the British rock band Status Quo in 2007. It was included on the album ''In Search of the Fourth Chord''. It reached number 48 on the UK Singles Chart in September 2007. "Beginning of the End" is the sole single from ''In Search of the Fourth Chord''. Much heavier than most of its recent predecessors (thereby signalling a move back towards a harder rock sound), it has gained distinction as being one of the few "newer" songs to survive in the live set and has continued to stay there up until the current Last Night of the Electrics tour. Live versions can be found on "Pictures - Live at Montreux 2009" and the bonus "Official Live Bootleg" that came with '' Quid Pro Quo'' (this same version was used on the soundtrack of the "Bula Quo" movie and is therefore also on disc 2 of the album). Status Quo (band)
Status Quo are a British rock band that formed in 1962. The group originated in London as The Scorpions and was founded by Francis Rossi and Alan Lancaster while they were still schoolboys. After a number of lineup changes, which included the introduction of Rick Parfitt in 1967, the band became The Status Quo in 1967 and Status Quo in 1969. As of 2022, the group have been active for 60 consecutive years (despite announcing a breakup in 1984, they would play Live Aid the following year and resume normal activities in 1986). They have had over 60 chart hits in the UK - more than any other rock band - including "Pictures of Matchstick Men", "Down Down", "Rockin' All Over the World", " Whatever You Want", " In the Army Now", and "What You're Proposing". The London Eye, or the Millennium Wheel, is a cantilevered observation wheel on the South Bank of the River Thames in London. It is Europe's tallest cantilevered observation wheel, and is the most popular paid tourist attraction in the United Kingdom with over 3 million visitors annually. Matt Letley
Matthew Letley (born 29 March 1961) is an English rock drummer, formerly with the English rock band, Status Quo. Career Letley attended Sir Joseph Williamson's Mathematical School, in Rochester, Kent. His first recordings, with his brother Mark's progressive rock band Sindelfingen, were made when he was only 12; a live track including him was added to a CD reissue of their rare album ''Odgipig'' (he joined after the recording of the original album). As a drummer he played for a number of well-known artists, including a-ha, Bob Geldof, Vanessa Mae, Hank Marvin and Kim Wilde. In April 2015 Matt Letley produced and recorded drum section for the song of Russian alternative rock band 208 Talks of Angels. Released 4 February 2022, Matt performed and recorded drums for Stu Allen's debut single "Falling Out of Sight". Having joined Status Quo in 2000, his first tour with the band was in Germany. Andy Bown
Andrew Steven Bown (born 27 March 1946) is an English musician, who has specialised in keyboards and bass guitar. He is a member of the rock band Status Quo. Career Bown's first major band was The Herd, along with Peter Frampton. After The Herd dissolved he spent two years with Judas Jump who were the opening act of the Isle of Wight Festival 1970. He played eyboards at firstfor Frampton in the 1970s then switched to bass briefly when Rick Wills departed the Peter Frampton band in early 1975. Bown himself left the Frampton entourage less than a year later, just as Frampton was on the verge of achieving worldwide success. He went back to England where he first dabbled with a solo career (recording two solo albums for Bill Gaff's GM label, US Mercury), then resumed work with Status Quo whom he started playing keyboards for in 1973 as a session musician, including sessions with Jerry Lee Lewis on the London Sessions Album. Rick Parfitt
Richard John Parfitt, (12 October 1948 24 December 2016) was an English musician, best known as a singer, songwriter and rhythm guitarist with rock band Status Quo. Parfitt began his career in the early 1960s, playing in pubs and holiday camps. He joined Status Quo in 1967 when they were looking for an additional singer. He wrote songs for the band and remained with them for 49 years. He occasionally guested with other bands, and recorded an unreleased solo album in 1985. In 2016, Parfitt temporarily retired from touring with the band due to ill health, and died in December of that year. His only solo album, '' Over and Out'', was released posthumously in 2018. Quid Pro Quo (album)
''Quid Pro Quo'' is the twenty-ninth studio album by English rock band Status Quo, released in May 2011. The album debuted at number 10 in the UK charts and features 14 new songs, as well as the 2010 version of their 1986 hit " In the Army Now" which was re-recorded in support of the Help for Heroes and British Forces Foundation charities. The accompanying ''Official Live Bootleg'' album features 12 older songs recorded by the band in concert in Amsterdam and Melbourne in 2010. In the UK the album was only available at branches of Tesco stores for its first week before being released conventionally on the band's Fourth Chord label on 6 June 2011. The single "Rock 'n' Roll 'n' You" was initially released as a free track download from the band's official website, and was included on BBC Radio 2's 'A' playlist from 14 May 2011 onwards. In Search Of The Fourth Chord
''In Search of the Fourth Chord'' is the twenty-eighth studio album by English rock band Status Quo, released on 17 September 2007. The title is a tongue-in-cheek reference to the rumour that the group always plays the same three chords, and a reference to the album ''In Search of the Lost Chord'' by British rock band the Moody Blues. The album's artwork is a parody of the Indiana Jones films. The album saw the return of producer Pip Williams for the first time since 1996's '' Don't Stop''. It entered the UK album charts at number 15. The track "Bad News" also marks bassist John "Rhino" Edwards' first lead vocal on an original Status Quo song: his son Freddie also plays the guitar solo on the track. This track and "Gravy Train" (sung by Parfitt) are also the first two Status Quo tracks that were written solely by Rhino.
