David Baerwald
David Francis Baerwald (born July 11, 1960) is an American singer-songwriter, composer, and musician. Career Baerwald first came to prominence in 1986 as one half of the duo David & David, with David Ricketts. David and David's sole album, ''Boomtown'', went platinum and stayed on the Billboard album chart for over a year, winning substantial critical acclaim, the debut single " Welcome to the Boomtown" became a top 40 Billboard hit. The duo split up following the success of that album for unexplained reasons. David Ricketts (musician)
David Jeffrey Ricketts (born November 16, 1953) is an American musician and record producer. Ricketts scored hits in the mid-1980s with David Baerwald in their group David & David, notably the track " Welcome to the Boomtown" from their only album ''Boomtown''. His romantic relationship with singer Toni Childs formed the basis for her critically acclaimed debut album, ''Union'', which Ricketts co-wrote and produced. Union was nominated for several Grammy Awards. He collaborated with Sheryl Crow on her debut ''Tuesday Night Music Club'' and is credited on the songs "Leaving Las Vegas" and "Strong Enough". Guitarist and songwriter Robbie Robertson tapped Ricketts to collaborate on '' Storyville'', Robertson's second solo album. Steve Lindsey (born Steve Clark Lindsey; May 6, 1956) is an American record producer, songwriter music publisher and music industry executive. Early life Steve Lindsey, born in New York City, to Mort Lindsey and his wife Judy. He had a connection to music from an early age and began playing piano at the age of five. Gregory Brian Leisz ( ; born September 18, 1949) is an American musician. He is a songwriter, recording artist, and producer. He plays guitar, dobro, mandolin, lap steel and pedal steel guitar. Biography Leisz grew up in the garage band culture of mid-1960s Southern California. He spent time at the Ashgrove, the Troubador, and clubs on the Sunset Strip . He began playing guitar and soon added dobro and lap steel. He was inspired to pick up the pedal steel after hearing Sneaky Pete Kleinow and Buddy Emmons. In 1975, he toured with John Stewart (formerly of The Kingston Trio). He was a member of Funky Kings who released their eponymous debut album on Arista Records in 1976. Vincent Peter Colaiuta (born February 5, 1956) is an American drummer who has worked as a session musician in many genres. He was inducted into the ''Modern Drummer'' Hall of Fame in 1996 and the ''Classic Drummer'' Hall of Fame in 2014. Colaiuta has won one Grammy Award and has been nominated twice. David & David (stylized as David + David) was an American rock duo composed of Los Angeles-based studio musicians David Baerwald and David Ricketts. They are best known for their debut single "Welcome to the Boomtown" from the album ''Boomtown''. ''Triage'' is the second solo album by David Baerwald, formerly of the two-man group David & David. It was released in 1993 on A&M Records. Baerwald had wanted the album to come out before the 1992 United States presidential election, but it was pushed back several months. Baerwald supported the album by participating in the "In Their Own Words" tour, along with Lisa Germano, Freedy Johnston, Johnny Clegg, and Michael Barabas. Production The album was produced by Bill Bottrell, Baerwald, and Dan Schwartz. Baerwald was open to different musical styles and tried not to limit the music to any specific genre. Many of its songs were influenced by politics and conspiracy theories. The album is dedicated to politicians and government officials disliked by Baerwald.
