''Beauty and the Beast'' (french: La Belle et la Bête) is a fairy tale written by French novelist Gabrielle-Suzanne de Villeneuve, Gabrielle-Suzanne Barbot de Villeneuve and published in 1740 in ''La Jeune Américaine et les contes marins'' (''The Young American and Marine Tales''). Her lengthy version was abridged, rewritten, and published by French novelist Jeanne-Marie Leprince de Beaumont in 1756 in ''Magasin des enfants'' (''Children's Collection'') to produce the version most commonly retold. Michael Ninian Harbour (4 July 1945 – 9 April 2009) was a British actor. In a career spanning forty years from 1969 until his death, he took on roles in television programmes such as ''The Line of Beauty'', ''Heartbeat'', ''Casualty'', ''Doctors'', ''Dixon of Dock Green'', ''Midsomer Murders'' and '' Love Lies Bleeding''. Albert Wolsky (born November 24, 1930) is an American costume designer. He has worked both on stage shows as well as for film, and has been nominated for an Academy Award for Best Costume Design seven times, winning two awards for his work on the films '' All That Jazz'' (1979) and '' Bugsy'' (1991). Early life, military service and early career Wolsky was born in Paris, France, but during World War II, he and the rest of his family fled to the United States to escape the German occupation. After graduating from the City College of New York, he served in the army from 1953 to 1956, spending most of his enlistment in Japan. The Wake are a British post-punk, synth-pop and later indie pop band, formed in Glasgow in 1981 by Gerard "Caesar" McInulty (formerly of Altered Images), Steven Allen (drums) and Joe Donnelly (bass), the latter replaced by Bobby Gillespie. John Chambers (September 12, 1922August 25, 2001) was an American make-up artist and prosthetic makeup expert in both television and film. He received an Academy Honorary Award from The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences in 1968. He is best known for creating the pointed ears of Spock in the television series ''Star Trek'' (1966), and for his groundbreaking prosthetic make-up work on the ''Planet of the Apes'' film franchise. Patricia Quinn, Lady Stephens (born 28 May 1944) is an actress and singer from Northern Ireland. She is best known for her role as Magenta in the 1975 film ''The Rocky Horror Picture Show,'' and the original stage play from which it was adapted.
