Beauty
Beauty is commonly described as a feature of objects that makes these objects pleasurable to perceive. Such objects include landscapes, sunsets, humans and works of art. Beauty, together with art and taste, is the main subject of aesthetics, one of the major branches of philosophy. As a positive aesthetic value, it is contrasted with ugliness as its negative counterpart. Along with truth and goodness it is one of the transcendentals, which are often considered the three fundamental concepts of human understanding. One difficulty in understanding beauty is because it has both objective and subjective aspects: it is seen as a property of things but also as depending on the emotional response of observers. Sherwood Smith (born 1951) is an American fantasy and science fiction writer for young adult literature, young adults and adults. Smith is a Nebula Award finalist and a longtime writing group organizer and participant. Smith's works include the YA novel ''Crown Duel''. Smith also collaborated with Dave Trowbridge in writing the ''Exordium (book series), Exordium'' series and with Andre Norton in writing two of the books in the ''Solar Queen'' universe. Beauty Ngxongo
Beauty Batimbele Ngxongo (born 1953) is a South African master weaver of Zulu people, Zulu baskets. Her baskets have reached international fame. She lives in Hlabisa, in the KwaZulu-Natal province of South Africa. Biography Ngxongo wove doormats and table mats in her childhood. In the 1990s, a neighbor taught Ngxongo how to make intricate basket designs using local natural products (like grasses and Hyphaene coriacea, Ilala palm leaves). A single Zulu basket that holds water take months to complete. By 2012, she employed 13 women to help her workshop. Finding buyers can be difficult as plastic containers are so easily available. However, she has collaborated with two contemporary designers to create what they call the Hlabisa Bench. Frank Bernard "Beauty" McGowan (November 8, 1901 – May 6, 1982) was an American professional baseball player, an outfielder who appeared in 375 games over five seasons (1922–1923; 1928–1929; 1937) in Major League Baseball for the Philadelphia Athletics, St. Louis Browns and Boston Bees. Shaye was a Canadian pop group, consisting of singer-songwriters Kim Stockwood, Damhnait Doyle and Tara MacLean. MacLean left the group in 2007 and the band folded by 2009.
