2013 Island Games
The XV Island Games (also known as the 2013 NatWest Island Games for sponsorship reasons) were held in Bermuda from 13 to 19 July 2013. Bermuda was selected to host the Games by default after Prince Edward Island withdrew from the International Island Games Association. It was the first time that the games were held outside Europe. Participating islands 22 island entities of the IIGA from Europe, South Atlantic and the Caribbean area competed in these games. Bermuda National Stadium
Bermuda National Sports Centre is a multi-purpose sports complex in Devonshire Parish, Bermuda, just to the east of the capital, Hamilton. The stadium was built on what was once a field used as a parade and sporting ground within Prospect Camp. The track had experienced Usain Bolt's performance in the 2004 CARIFTA Games, where he broke the World Junior Record with a time of 19.93 seconds. Football The main stadium is currently used mostly for football matches. The stadium holds 8,500. The stadium was used by the Bermuda Hogges of the United Soccer Leagues Second Division. Cricket Located just north of the National Stadium is a cricket ground of the same name which is used by the Bermuda cricket team. The first recorded cricket match on the ground came in 1955 when E. Devonshire Parish
Devonshire Parish is one of the nine parishes of Bermuda. Originally named ''Cavendish Tribe'' and later Devonshire Tribe, for William Cavendish, 1st Earl of Devonshire (1552–1626). ''Devonshire Redoubt'', on Castle Island, one of the Castle Harbour fortifications of St. George's Parish, was also named after him. Location It is located in the centre of the territory, close to the junction between the main part of the main island and the peninsula containing the capital, Hamilton, and Pembroke Parish (to which it is joined in the west). To the northeast, it is joined to Smith's Parish, and to the southwest it borders Paget Parish. As with most of Bermuda's parishes, it covers just over . North Shore Road, Middle Road, and South Shore Road all go through this parish. It had a population of 7,087 in 2016.
