BBMak
BBMak are an English band consisting of Mark Barry, Christian Burns and Stephen McNally. Formed in Liverpool in 1996, they sold over three million albums worldwide between 1999 and 2003. The band first achieved success when their single "Back Here" gained popularity in radio stations in Asia and they later signed with Hollywood Records in the U.S. The band reworked their debut album '' Sooner or Later'' for an American release in 2000, and the album charted at number 38 on the ''Billboard'' 200 chart with "Back Here" becoming a top 20 hit. BBMak's success in the American market helped the band finally break through in their home country. In 2002, the group released their second album ''Into Your Head'' which charted at number 25 on the ''Billboard'' albums chart. In 2003, the group dissolved as each member went on to pursue solo careers. BBMak reunited in 2018 after a 15-year absence. They recorded and released a third studio album, '' Powerstation'' (2019). Back Here
"Back Here" is the debut single by English pop rock band BBMak. It was written by the three members of the group ( Christian Burns, Mark Barry, and Stephen McNally) along with songwriter Phil Thornalley. It was originally released in August 1999 as the lead single from their debut studio album, '' Sooner or Later'' (2000), but did not experience commercial success until its American release the following year, when it became a top-20 hit in the United States. The song was then re-released in the United Kingdom and entered the top five of the UK Singles Chart in February 2001. ''Rolling Stone'' ranked it as the 63rd greatest boy band song of all time. Stephen McNally (musician)
Stephen Patrick McNally (born 4 July 1978) is an English singer and songwriter, best known for his work with BBMak. Biography McNally began playing guitar in 1990 and had occasional lessons from Cast lead guitarist Liam Tyson. He then formed his first band, The Mist, with some high school friends and started writing songs. From 1996 to 2003, McNally was a singer and lead guitarist of English pop rock band BBMak, along with Mark Barry and Christian Burns. Together they sold over three million albums worldwide. Their biggest single, "Back Here", was #1 in the US and across Asia. In 2003 after BBMAK split, McNally began writing songs for a solo album with Ricky Ross, Karl Wallinger, and The Real People members Tony and Chris Griffiths. The following year, McNally began recording a solo album in France with record producer James Sanger and drummer Ash Soan but abandoned the project later that year. ''Into Your Head'' is the second studio album by the English music group BBMak, released on 27 August 2002 by Hollywood Records. It peaked at #25 in the US, spawning the hit single " Out of My Heart". The album is an enhanced CD, containing regular audio tracks and multimedia computer files. The Japanese edition of the 2002 album includes two exclusive bonus tracks, "So Wrong So Right" and "Never Gonna Give You Up", as well as the enhanced videos to "Back Here" and "Still On Your Side". Christian Burns
Christian Anthony Burns (born 18 January 1974) is an English singer. He is the son of Tony Burns of The Signs, a Liverpool-based rock band signed to Decca Records in the 1960s. Career Burns was a member of the popular British band BBMak, along with Mark Barry and Stephen McNally. The group sold nearly three million albums worldwide and had a top 5 single with "Back Here", in the UK. In the United States, "Back Here" reached #13 on the Hot 100 and received heavy video play on MTV and TRL. In 2003, the band broke up, and all the members went on to pursue solo careers. Since then Burns has been collaborating with other artists and dance projects. In 2007, he worked with Tiësto on the track "In the Dark", for the album ''Elements of Life''. M2M (band)
M2M were a Norwegian pop duo comprising Marit Larsen and Marion Raven. Larsen and Raven had been friends since the age of five, and formed a music duo when they were eight. They released a children's album in 1996 when Larsen was 12 and Raven was 11, under the name "Marit & Marion". The album was nominated for a Spellemannprisen award and the band changed their name to M2M after signing a record deal with Atlantic Records in 1998. M2M were frequently praised for writing most of their songs and performing their own instruments, something which was considered to set them aside from the majority of teen pop music artists. Telstar Records was a British record label that operated from 1982 to 2004. Background Telstar was founded in 1982 by Sean O'Brien and Neil Palmer with a government loan of £120,00Telstar RecordsIt was launched as a specialist compilation marketing label and had hits with a range of compilation franchises such as the Deep Heat, Kaos Theory and 100% ranges. The ''Billboard'' Hot 100 is the music industry standard record chart in the United States for songs, published weekly by '' Billboard'' magazine. Chart rankings are based on sales (physical and digital), radio play, and online streaming in the United States. The weekly tracking period for sales was initially Monday to Sunday when Nielsen started tracking sales in 1991, but was changed to Friday to Thursday in July 2015.
