Bayerisch Eisenstein
Bayerisch Eisenstein, until 1951 just Eisenstein () is a village and a Municipalities of Germany, municipality in the Regen (district), Regen district, in Bavaria, Germany. Geography Bayerisch Eisenstein is located within the Bavarian Forest, Bayerischer Wald, and borders the Bavarian Forest National Park (Germany's first national park, established in 1970). The town is both a winter and a summer resort. In the summer, walking in the forest and mountains is popular. In winter, winter sports prevail, concentrated around the Großer Arber mountain. It is one of a trio of connected places in the area. The other two are Železná Ruda (known in German as ''Böhmisch Eisenstein'' or ''Markt Eisenstein'') and Špičák (''Dorf Eisenstein''), both in the Czech Republic. Železná Ruda lies 2 kilometres northeast from Bayerisch Eisenstein. The town's Bayerisch Eisenstein railway station, railway station is split by the border.
