Battle
A battle is an occurrence of combat in warfare between opposing military units of any number or size. A war usually consists of multiple battles. In general, a battle is a military engagement that is well defined in duration, area, and force commitment. An engagement with only limited commitment between the forces and without decisive results is sometimes called a skirmish. The word "battle" can also be used infrequently to refer to an entire operational campaign, although this usage greatly diverges from its conventional or customary meaning. Generally, the word "battle" is used for such campaigns if referring to a protracted combat encounter in which either one or both of the combatants had the same methods, resources, and strategic objectives throughout the encounter. Some prominent examples of this would be the Battle of the Atlantic, Battle of Britain, and Battle of Stalingrad, all in World War II. Wars and military campaigns are guided by military strategy, whereas ...

Battlezone (1980 Video Game)
''Battlezone'' is a first-person shooter tank combat game released for arcades in November 1980 by Atari, Inc. The player controls a tank which is attacked by other tanks and missiles, using a small radar scanner to locate enemies around them in the barren landscape. Its innovative use of 3D graphics made it a huge hit, with approximately 15,000 units sold. With its use of three-dimensional vector graphics, the game is considered to be the first true 3D arcade game with a first-person perspective, the "first big 3D success" in the video game industry, and the first successful first-person shooter video game in particular, making it a milestone for first-person shooter games. The game was primarily designed by Ed Rotberg, who was mainly inspired by Atari's top-down shooter game ''Tank'' (1974). ''Battlezone'' was distributed in Japan by Sega and Taito in 1981. The system was based on vector hardware designed by Howard Delman which was introduced in '' Lunar Lander'' and saw suc ...

BZFlag
''BZFlag'' (an abbreviation for Battle Zone capture the Flag) is a free and open-source, multiplayer online, tank game. Development Inspired by Battlezone, ''BZFlag'' was first written in C by Chris Schoeneman in 1992, as a part of his studies at Cornell University. BZFlag was initially called "bz" and despite its similarity to the SGI game of the same title by Chris Fouts, the games are completely independent of each other. In 1993, BZFlag was released to the public for the first time. This release took a new turn compared to older versions after a cheater, who edited the source code of his client to give himself powers that do not come from official releases, inspired Schoeneman and Pasetto to add "super-flags." Super flags affect a tank's performance by adding abilities or weapons to its arsenal. The first four flags were High Speed (boosted tank speed), Quick Turn (tank turned faster), Rapid Fire (shots moved faster), and Oscillation Overthruster (tank could go through ...

The card game is part of the ''Duel Masters'' franchise. The game was released in Japan in May 2002, where it quickly became the number one selling trading card game for over a year. The game shares several similarities with ''Magic: The Gathering'', the world's first collectible card game, which was also published by Wizards of the Coast. In fact, ''Duel Masters'' was originally intended as an alternative tradename for ''Magic: The Gathering'' and the earlier game play was abandoned in the ''Duel Masters'' manga plot to promote this latest experience. As in ''Magic: The Gathering'', ''Duel Masters'' players summon creatures and cast spells using mana. Key differences include the fact that all c ...
