Battle Of Brovary
The Battle of Brovary was a military engagement during the Kyiv offensive of the 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine for control of the suburb of Brovary, to the east of the capital city of Ukraine, Kyiv. Russian forces advanced west from southern Chernihiv Oblast and were engaged by Ukrainian forces. Control of the suburb was contested until Russian forces withdrew on 2 April 2022. Battle March On the evening of 9 March 2022, a column of Russian armored vehicles advanced into Brovary from the north via Highway M01. The column, consisting of the 6th and 239th Tank Regiments of the 90th Guards Tank Division, moved very slowly and included many highly outdated vehicles such as T-72 tanks, described as ill-suited to modern warfare by analysts. Kyiv Offensive (2022)
The Kyiv offensive was a theater in the 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine. It involved attacks by Russia across the Russo-Ukrainian and Belarusian–Ukrainian borders beginning on 24 February 2022 for the control of Kyiv and its surrounding areas. Russian operations around Kyiv saw the occupation of parts of neighbouring Zhytomyr Oblast as well. Kyiv is the capital city of Ukraine, and houses the headquarters for the Ukrainian government and military command. Russian forces initially successfully captured several towns and cities in Kyiv Oblast. However, the offensive stalled over logistical and tactical issues. Highway M01 (Ukraine)
M01 is a Ukraine international highway ( M-highway) that stretches from the state capital, Kyiv, to the northern border with Belarus. Together with the M05 it is a part of the European routes E95 (Saint Petersburg – Kyiv – Odessa Samsun – Merzifon) and the Trans-European transportation corridor IX. Also together with the M02 it is part of E101 (Kyiv – Moscow). Route / Junctions is long going in the north-south direction. Its southern end is in Kyiv at intersection of Academician Hlushkov Parkway (Akademika Hlushkova Avenue) and Academician Zabolotny Parkway (Akademika Zabolotnoho Avenue). TOS-1 (russian: тяжёлая огнемётная система ОС-1}, Heavy Flamethrower System) is a Soviet 220 mm 30-barrel (original system, Object 634 or TOS-1M) or 24-barrel (Object 634B or TOS-1A) multiple rocket launcher capable of using thermobaric warheads, mounted on a T-72 tank chassis. Self-propelled artillery (also called locomotive artillery) is artillery equipped with its own propulsion system to move toward its firing position. Within the terminology are the self-propelled gun, self-propelled howitzer, self-propelled mortar, and rocket artillery. The 239th Guards Red Banner Orders of Zhukov, Suvorov, Kutuzov, and Alexander Nevsky Orenburg Cossack Tank Regiment (239 ''gv. tp'') (; Military Unit Number (''v/ch'') 89547) is a tank regiment of the Russian Ground Forces.
