Bato Sa Buhangin
''Bato sa Buhangin'' is a 1976 Filipino romantic drama film directed by Pablo Santiago. It stars Fernando Poe Jr. and Vilma Santos in their second on-screen team up following the success of ''Batya't Palu-palo'' (1974). The film was released by FPJ Productions on August 13, 1976. Plot An intriguing revelation from a fortune teller leaves the spoiled Bamba (Vilma Santos) restless to meet her destined lover. Mary Walter (September 10, 1912 – February 25, 1993) was a Filipina actress whose eight decade-long film acting career saw her transformation from a romantic lead in the silent film era into a wizened fixture in horror movies in the late 1980s and early 1990s. The 24th Filipino Academy of Movie Arts and Sciences Awards Night was held in 1977. This was for the outstanding achievements in films in 1976. A Nora Aunor film, ''Minsa'y isang gamu-gamo'' from Premiere Productions, was the most nominated with eight nominations and the most awarded with five wins including FAMAS Award for Best Picture and the Best Director for Lupita Aquino-Kashiwahara. However, Aunor was not nominated for this film but she did win for another film, ''Tatlong taong walang Diyos'', her first award from FAMAS after five nominations. Cinderella is a Filipino pop group that rose to prominence in the 1970s. The group recorded for Sunshine Records, and together with contemporaries Hotdog, formed the impetus of what would be the Manila sound movement. Cinderella's most recognized single is "T.L. Roberto Nicholas "Snaffu" Rigor (August 8, 1946 – August 3, 2016) was a Filipino songwriter and vocalist. He started composing in 1964. His first recorded Tagalog composition was "T.L. Ako Sa'yo", a hit by Cinderella in 1975. He also wrote the lyrics to Ernani Cuenco's "Bato sa Buhangin" and the English version of "Araw-araw, Gabi-gabi". Rigor was a member of the bands Ramrods, Cinderella, Backdoor and Blackbuster, and head of Domestic A&R of Blackgold and 70's Superband. Rigor died of lung cancer on August 3, 2016, at age 69.
