Batmönkhiin Maral-Erdene ( mn, Батмөнхийн Марал-Эрдэнэ; born 15 October 1994) is a Mongolian professional road bicycle racer, who currently rides for UCI Continental team Nusantara Cycling Team. Career Early life Maral-Erdene was born in 1994 in the province of Khövsgöl in Mongolia. His grandfather is a cycling coach who organizes cycling competitions in the province. Maral-Erdene's grandfather encourages his children and grandchildren to develop cycling in their home province which led to Maral-Erdene taking up the sport in 2007. Professional career Maral-Erdene started his professional cycling career with teams in China before moving to the Malaysia-based in 2016 which joins more UCI-sanctioned competition. From March 2016, Mongolian cycling-figure Jamsran Ulzii-Orshikh serves as his coach whom he idolized since childhood. Khövsgöl Province
Khövsgöl ( mn, Хөвсгөл) is the northernmost of the 21 aimags (provinces) of Mongolia. The name is derived from Lake Khövsgöl. Geography and history The round-topped Tarvagatai, Bulnain and Erchim sub-ranges of the Khangai massif dominate the south and southwest of the largely mountainous province, and north and west of Lake Khövsgöl, lie the alpine Khoridol Saridag, Ulaan Taiga, and Mönkh Saridag mountains. The center and eastern parts of the province are less mountainous, but still hilly. The region is well known in Mongolia for its natural environment, and Lake Khövsgöl is one of the country's major tourist attractions. The largest forests of Mongolia are located around and to the north of the lake, extending the South Siberian taiga. The aimag was founded in 1931. The Le Tour de Filipinas is an annual professional road bicycle racing stage race held in Luzon, Philippines since 1955 as part of the UCI Asia Tour. It is held in April every year. While the course changes every year, the tour traditionally ends at Rizal Park, Manila, although recently the tour has ended in Baguio after being licensed by the UCI. The Oita Urban Classic is a one-day road cycling race held on the street circuit around the Oita Stadium on Kyushu Island, Japan.
