''Basra'' is a 2008 Egyptian film. Synopsis Cairo, March 17, 2003. The US-UK strike against Iraq is imminent. How can an Egyptian photographer, in his thirties, surpass his own disappointments and fears? Ahmed Rashwan ( ar, احمد رشوان; born 1969) is an Egyptian film director, screenplay writer, and a film producer. His filmography includes a list of short, documentaries, and one long-feature film. Yara Goubran (in Arabic يارا جبران), is an Egyptian film and stage actress very famous for her roles in independent Egyptian theatre as well as her lead role in an award-winning film ''Basra'' in the role of Nahla. Christine Solomon (born February 13, 1981) is an Egyptian-born Canadian actress. Early life Solomon was born in Cairo; her family moved to Montreal, Quebec when she was 7 years old.
