The men's tournament of basketball at the 2009 Summer Universiade at Belgrade, Serbia began on July 2 and ended on July 11. Teams Format * 26 participating team are drawn into six groups of three teams (A, C, D, E, G, H) and two groups of four teams (B, F). Each group will use the single round robin system. * 1st and 2nd placed teams of each group from the preliminary will be divided into four groups (I, J, K, L) of four teams. Goal difference, goal differential or points difference is a form of tiebreaker used to rank sport teams which finish on equal points in a league competition. Železnik Hall ( sr, Дворана Железник, Dvorana Železnik) is a basketball arena in Belgrade, Serbia. The arena is currently used as a home arena to the KK FMP Beograd of the Basketball League of Serbia and the Adriatic League. The basketball arena has three levels and the area of 4,500 square metres. With various associate structures it represents a modern sports and business complex. The Millennium Centar ( sr, Центар Миленијум, ) is a Multi-purpose stadium, multi-purpose indoor arena located in the city of Vršac.
