Bart Spring in 't Veld (born 18 September 1976 in Roelofarendsveen) is a Dutch television producer and the first winner of Big Brother in the world: in 1999 he won the first Big Brother in the Netherlands. Ever since then, he has been trying to rid himself of the image created by the show that he claimed 'stole islife'. Big Brother (TV Series)
''Big Brother'' is a Dutch reality competition television franchise created by John de Mol Jr., first broadcast in the Netherlands in 1999, and subsequently syndicated internationally. The show features contestants called "housemates" or "HouseGuests" who live together in a specially constructed house that is isolated from the outside world. The name is inspired by Big Brother (Nineteen Eighty-Four), Big Brother from George Orwell's novel ''Nineteen Eighty-Four'', and the housemates are continuously monitored during their stay in the house by live television cameras as well as personal audio microphones. Roelofarendsveen
Roelofarendsveen is a town in the west of the Netherlands. It is located in the municipality of Kaag en Braassem, South Holland, about 10 km east of Leiden. History The village was first mentioned in 1575 as "Roelifaerts Veen", and means "bog of Roelof Aertszoon" who was probably the peat concession holder. Roelofarendsveen is a road village which developed along the bank of the . Later it developed into a horticulture centre. The ''polder'' mill Googermolen was built in 1717. It might have been rebuilt in 1830s. It was definitely restored in 1839. In 1956, a pumping station was added, and the wind mill now operates on a voluntary basis. The Catholic St Petrus' Banden Church is an aisleless church with detached tower built between 1969 and 1970 as a replacement of the 1856 church. Roelofarendsveen was home to 1,205 people in 1840. Celebrity culture is a high-volume exposure to celebrities' personal lives on a global scale. It is inherently tied to consumer interests where celebrities transform their fame to become product brands. Whereas a culture can usually be physically identified, and its group characteristics easily observed, celebrity culture exists solely as a collection of individuals' desires for increased celebrity viewing. Celebrities themselves do not form a cohesive and identifiable group with which they identify themselves, but are rather found across a spectrum of activities and communities including acting, politics, fashion, sports and music.
