Lisandro de la Torre is a barrio (traditional neighborhood) in the north-east of Rosario, Argentina. It carries the name of a renowned local politician, Lisandro de la Torre (1868–1939), but is most commonly referred to as Arroyito. It is a primarily commercial zone, delimited by Alberdi Avenue and the Paraná River (to the north lies Barrio Alberdi). It includes the Parque Alem, one of Rosario's major urban parks, the Gigante de Arroyito Stadium (home of local football team Rosario Central), and the mouth of the Ludueña Stream, as well as the Municipal Aquarium. Lisandro De La Torre
Lisandro de la Torre (6 December 1868 – 5 January 1939) was an Argentine politician, born in Rosario, Santa Fe. He was considered as a model of ethics in politics. He was a national deputy and senator, a prominent polemicist, and founder of the Democratic Progressive Party in 1914. He ran twice for the office of President, in 1916 and in 1931. De la Torre became a lawyer in 1890. His thesis about municipalities and communes, as well as other works of his, gave rise to the idea of municipal autonomy in Argentina, which was included in the Argentine Constitution in the 1994 reform. In 1898 he founded the newspaper ''La República'' ("The Republic") in Rosario. Beginnings in politics A member of the Radical Civic Union (''Unión Cívica Radical'', UCR) under the leadership of Leandro Alem, de la Torre abandoned the party in 1897 due to disagreement with the new leader, Hipólito Yrigoyen. Ludueña Stream
The Ludueña Stream (in Spanish, Arroyo Ludueña) is a small river (about long including its tributaries) in the , which starts near the city of Rosario and flows through it, mostly east-southwards, ending in the Paraná River in the neighbourhood commonly known as ''Arroyito'', near Rosario Central's football stadium. The Ludueña drains an area which includes Rosario and several smaller towns (Pérez, Zavalla, Pujato, Funes, Roldán, San Jerónimo, Luis Palacios, Ricardone, Ibarlucea, and Camilo Aldao). Parts of its drainage basin are subject to flooding. Juan Enrique Hayes
Juan Enrique Hayes ( es, Juan Enrique Hayes, 20 January 1891 – 25 July 1976) was an Argentine footballer, who played his entire career for Rosario Central (where he spent 20 years). Hayes also played for the Argentina national team. Nicknamed ''Harry'', ''Maestro'', and ''Inglés'', Hayes, with 221 official goals (including AFA and Liga Rosarina competitions) is the all-time leading top scorer in the history of Rosario Central. Moreover, Hayes is the most winning player with 20 official titles won (5 AFA championships, and 15 titles in Rosario regional leagues).
