Barra De Potosí
Barra de Potosí is a small fishing village in the Mexican state of Guerrero, that is located in the municipality of Petatlan. Situated at the edge of Laguna Potosí, the village itself consists of three main streets crossed by two streets and as of the 2011 census by INEGI was considered to have 396 inhabitants; 211 men and 185 women. The area is mostly known by local tour guides and on Trip Advisor as a tourist destination for days trips from local inland communities and from Zihuatanejo. Enramadas (open palapa covered restaurants) line the edge of the lagoon and the beach front and are especially popular with weekend visitors for the fresh fish served there. Local villagers offer lagoon tours, fishing trips, rental kayaks and during the winter months, humpback whale watching tours. The lagoon and surrounding eco-system covers with of mangrove. Petatlán Municipality is one of the 81 municipalities of Guerrero, in south-western Mexico. The municipal seat lies at Petatlán. The municipality covers an area of . As of 2005, the municipality had a total population of 44,485. Zihuatanejo
Zihuatanejo (), or Ixtapa-Zihuatanejo, is the fourth-largest city in the Mexican state of Guerrero. It was known by 18th century English mariners as Chequetan or Seguataneo. Politically the city belongs to the municipalities of Mexico, municipality of Zihuatanejo de Azueta in the western part of Guerrero, but both are commonly referred to as Zihuatanejo. It is on the Pacific Coast, about northwest of Acapulco and further south in latitude than Honolulu, Honolulu, Hawaii. A palapa (a Spanish word of Tagalog origin, originally meaning " petiole of the palm leaf") is an open-sided dwelling with a thatched roof made of dried palm leaves. Mangrove
A mangrove is a shrub or tree that grows in coastal saline water, saline or brackish water. The term is also used for tropical coastal vegetation consisting of such species. Mangroves are taxonomically diverse, as a result of convergent evolution in several plant families.
