	Clyde Barfoot Clyde Raymond Barfoot (July 8, 1891 – March 11, 1971), nicknamed "Foots", was an American baseball player. He played professional baseball as a right-handed pitcher 25 years from 1914 to 1938, including three seasons in Major League Baseball with the St. Louis Cardinals (1922–1923) and Detroit Tigers (1926). Early years Barfoot was born in Richmond, Virginia, in 1891. Professional baseball Barfoot began his professional baseball career playing in the minor leagues for the Chattanooga Lookouts (1914), Galveston Pirates (1914–1917), San Antonio Bronchos (1917–1920), Newark Bears (1918), Columbus Senators (1918), New Orleans Pelicans (1920), and Houston Buffaloes (1921). After compiling a 22–13 record with Houston in 1922, he got a shot at playing in the major leagues. He made his major league debut with the St. Louis Cardinals on April 13, 1922, at age 30. 	George Barfoot George Barfoot (6 November 1812 at Twyford, Hampshire – 1889 at Winchester, Hampshire) was an English first-class cricketer who represented Hampshire, making his debut in 1842 against Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC). The following season Barfoot played three further first-class matches for Hampshire, twice against Nottinghamshire and once against the Marylebone Cricket Club. Barfoot followed this up with a single first-class match for Hampshire in 1844 against the Marylebone Cricket Club and played the same opposition for the final time in 1845. In 1845 Barfoot played his final first-class match for Hampshire against Petworth Cricket Club. In his career Barfoot scored 44 runs at a batting average of 3.66 and took a single wicket for the cost of 5 runs. Barfoot died at Winchester, Hampshire in 1889. 	Joan Barfoot Joan Louise Barfoot (born May 17, 1946) is a Canadian novelist. She has published 11 novels, including ''Luck'' (2005), which was a nominee for the 2005 Scotiabank Giller Prize, and ''Critical Injuries'' (2001), which was longlisted for the 2002 Man Booker Prize. Her latest novel, ''Exit Lines'', was published in 2009. Life and career Joan Barfoot was born on May 17, 1946 in Owen Sound, Ontario, and graduated with a degree in English from the University of Western Ontario in 1969. She worked as a reporter and editor for various newspapers in Ontario including the ''Windsor Star'', the ''Toronto Sun'' and the ''London Free Press''. 	Stuart Barfoot Stuart John Barfoot (born 10 December 1975) was an English footballer. Stuart Barfoot, a full-back, began his career as an apprentice with AFC Bournemouth, turning professional in July 1994. He made just two league appearances (both as a substitute the following season, one coming against Chelsea in the League Cup in September 1994 when he replaced Sean O'Driscoll) before joining Torquay United. He failed to break into the first team at Plainmoor, leaving league football. In the 1997–98 season he was playing for Bashley, moving to Andover in 1999.
