Barbara Urquiza
Barbara Urquiza (born 24 January 2003) is a Brazilian rhythmic gymnastics, member of the national group. Personal life Urquiza took up the sport at age 12, she first tried artistic gymnastics before being convinced to try rhythmic gymnastics. She now trains at the National Rhythmic Gymnastics Training Centre in Aracaju. Career In 2022 she entered the senior national group rooster getting to compete at the World Championships in Kitakyushu along Maria Arakaki, Vitoria Guerra, Deborah Medrado, Nicole Pircio and Beatriz Silva, the group was 9th in the All-Around, 7th with 5 balls and 11th with 3 hoops and 4 clubs. In 2022 she competed at two World Cups, Portimão where the group was 5th in the All-Around and with 5 hoops and 4th with 3 ribbons and 2 balls, and Pesaro where they finished 4th in the All-Around, 8th with 5 hoops and won bronze with 3 ribbons and 2 balls, the first World Cup medal since 2013 and only the second ever for Brazil. Rhythmic Gymnastics
Rhythmic gymnastics is a sport in which gymnasts perform on a floor with an apparatus: hoop, ball, clubs, ribbon. The sport combines elements of gymnastics, dance and calisthenics; gymnasts must be strong, flexible, agile, dexterous and coordinated. Rhythmic gymnastics is governed by the International Gymnastics Federation (FIG), which first recognized it as a sport in 1963. It became an Olympic sport in 1984, with an individual all-around event. The group all-around competition was added to the Olympics in 1996. Maria Eduarda De Almeida "Duda" Arakaki (born 12 August 2003) is a Brazilian rhythmic gymnast. She represented Brazil at the 2018 Summer Youth Olympics and competed in the individual all-around, and she represented Brazil at the 2020 Summer Olympics in the group all-around. The 2022 FIG World Cup circuit in Rhythmic Gymnastics is a series of competitions officially organized and promoted by the International Gymnastics Federation. Formats On February 26, 2022, the International Gymnastics Federation cancelled all events scheduled to take place in Russia and Belarus due to the 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine. The Moscow World Challenge Cup, originally planned for 19–21 August and the Minsk World Challenge Cup, originally planned for 2–4 September, were affected by this decision and removed from the FIG calendar. Beatriz Silva
Beatriz Linhares da Silva (born 4 February 2003) is a Brazilian rhythmic gymnast. She represented Brazil at the 2020 Summer Olympics in the group all-around. Career Linhares grew up training in ballet, but she switched to rhythmic gymnastics when she was nine years old. In 2017, she moved away from her family to Aracaju so she could train with the Brazilian group. Linhares represented Brazil at the 2019 Pan American Games, and the Brazilian group won the bronze medal in the group all-around behind Mexico and the United States. They also won the bronze medal in the 5 balls event final. Then in the 3 hoops + 4 clubs, they won the gold medal. Linhares competed at the 2021 Pan American Championships in Rio de Janeiro. Nicole Pircio Nunes Duarte (born 24 July 2002) is a Brazilian rhythmic gymnast. She is the 2021 and 2022 Pan American group all-around champion and the 2019 Pan American Games 3 hoops + 4 clubs champion. She won three gold medals at the 2018 South American Games and at the 2019 South American Championships, and she won four gold medals at the 2022 South American Championships. She represented Brazil at the 2020 Summer Olympics and finished twelfth in qualifications for the group all-around. Career Pircio began rhythmic gymnastics when she was ten years old and was invited to join the Brazilian national team in 2018. Vitoria Guerra (born 3 June 2001) is a rhythmic gymnast and member of the Brazilian national team. Guerra has won two gold medals and four bronze medals at Pan American gymnastics championships. Career Guerra took up gymnastics at the age of eight. In 2016, she won gold in teams and with hoop at the Pan American Championships.
