Baraini Railway Station
Eagle Farm railway station is an abandoned passenger station on the Pinkenba railway line, only (4.2 mi) from the Brisbane central business district; from Central station by rail. History Opened in 1952 as Baraini railway station, it was renamed a few months later to Airport railway station since it was located near the old Brisbane Airport at Eagle Farm before it moved to its current location, north, at the demolished suburb Cribb Island. Airport station was unpopular with airport passengers, mostly due to very infrequent services and significant walking distance to the airport terminal. It was renamed Eagle Farm railway station in 1988 along with the electrification of the line, only until a few metres past the station. Rationalization (economics)
In economics, rationalization is an attempt to change a pre-existing ad hoc workflow into one that is based on a set of published rules. There is a tendency in modern times to quantify experience, knowledge, and work. Means–end (goal-oriented) rationality is used to precisely calculate that which is necessary to attain a goal. Queensland Rail City Network
The Queensland Rail Citytrain network, provides urban, suburban and interurban electric passenger railway services in South East Queensland, Australia. History The first railway in Queensland did not run to Brisbane, but ran from Ipswich to Grandchester and opened in July 1865. The line into Brisbane was not completed until the opening of the Albert Bridge in July 1875. A start on electrification of the suburban network was approved in 1950 but a change of state government in 1957 saw the scheme abandoned in 1959. It was not until the 1970s that electrification was again brought up, with contracts let in 1975. The first part of the new electric system from Darra to Ferny Grove opened on 17 November 1979. Kingsford Smith Drive is a major road in Brisbane. The road was named after the aviator Charles Kingsford Smith. It connects the suburb of Pinkenba to the Brisbane central business district at the Breakfast Creek. Kingsford Smith Drive is one of the busiest roads in Brisbane, carrying an average of 61,773 vehicles per day between July and December 2014. History The first road along the northern bank of the Brisbane River was constructed in 1829/1830. Convict labour was used to connect the main settlement to the women's gaol at Eagle Farm. Pinkenba Railway Station
Pinkenba railway station was a railway station on the Pinkenba railway line in the suburb of Pinkenba, City of Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. It was originally the terminus station of the Pinkenba Line, just from the Brisbane central business district and from Central station by rail. It opened in 1897 and was rebuilt in 1969, with a new station closer to the township of Pinkenba. The first station became a shunters' quarters. The line closed to all passenger traffic in 1993. History The Pinkenba line opened 1 April 1897. The Doomben railway line is a railway line in the City of Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. It is the part of the Pinkenba railway line that still operates a regular passenger service. ''Doomben'', or ''dumben'', is the Indigenous Yuggera name for a tree fern which was prolific in the area. The railway line branches from the North Coast line at Eagle Junction, extending to the industrial suburb of Pinkenba, situated on the northern bank at the mouth of the Brisbane River.
