Banlic Station
Banlic station is a proposed railway station located on the South Main Line in Laguna, Philippines. Description Banlic is one of the two interchange points between the North–South Commuter Railway (NSCR) and the PNR South Long Haul inter-city rail lines. It is currently set to be the terminus of South Long Haul Phase 1 while , the planned passenger terminus of the system, shall only be built by Phase 4. Meanwhile, being the next station to the south, is a terminus of the NSCR as a whole. This makes Banlic the penultimate station for southbound NSCR trains heading for Calamba and northbound South Long Haul trains heading for Sucat. It will also replace Mamatid station for the NSCR, located a few hundred meters to the north from the site. PNR South Main Line
The PNR South Main Line ( fil, Pangunahing Linyang Patimog ng PNR, also known as Southrail and formerly the Main Line South) is one of the two trunk lines that form the Philippine National Railways' network in the island of Luzon, Philippines. It was opened in stages between 1916 and 1938 by the Manila Railroad. Services peaked in the 1940s until the late 1960s, when the system started to decline. Since 1988, it was the only functioning inter-city rail after its counterpart to the north, the North Main Line, was closed. The intercity section of the line in Laguna, Quezon and the Bicol Region was then closed and reopened repeatedly between 2004 and 2014 due to a combination of declining ridership and was closed since then. The North–South Commuter Railway (NSCR), also known as the Clark–Calamba Railway, is a urban rail transit system under construction in the island of Luzon, Philippines. Running from New Clark City in Capas to Calamba, Laguna with 36 stations and four services, the railway was designed to improve connectivity within the Greater Manila Area and will be integrated with the railway network in the region. Originally planned in the 1990s, the railway project has had a tumultuous history, being repeatedly halted and restarted due to various reasons. PNR South Long Haul
The PNR South Long Haul Project, also known as PNR Bicol is an proposed inter-city rail line in southern Luzon, Philippines. It is part of the larger Luzon Rail System, a network of long-distance standard-gauge lines being built by the Philippine National Railways throughout Luzon. It is one of the two lines that will reconstruct the historic PNR South Main Line, along with the electrified North–South Commuter Railway South section to Calamba, Laguna. The line will initially begin at Banlic station in Calamba, Laguna and terminate at Daraga, Albay. There will also be additional extensions, infill stations, and branch lines. Mamatid was also the starting point of the now-defunct Canlubang Line, which connects it to the former Canlubang Sugar Mill in Canlubang, Calamba, Laguna, and today to the Nuvali Ayala Land, Inc. An island platform (also center platform, centre platform) is a station layout arrangement where a single platform is positioned between two tracks within a railway station, tram stop or transitway interchange. Island platforms are popular on twin-track routes due to pragmatic and cost reasons.
