Bangladesh made its first Test tour of Sri Lanka in July–August 2002, playing 2 Tests and 3 ODIs. Sri Lanka won all five matches to complete whitewash in both the Test and the ODI series. Sri Lanka was captained by Sanath Jayasuriya and Bangladesh was captained by Khaled Mashud in both the formats of cricket. Sanath Jayasuriya
Deshabandu Sanath Teran Jayasuriya ( si, සනත් ජයසූරිය, ta, சனத் ஜெயசூர்யா; born 30 June 1969), is a former Sri Lankan cricketer and a captain. He is credited for having revolutionized one-day international cricket with his explosive batting with Romesh Kaluwitharana in the mid-1990s, which initiated the hard-hitting modern-day batting strategy of all nations. Not Out
In cricket, a batter is not out if they come out to bat in an innings and have not been dismissed by the end of an innings. The batter is also ''not out'' while their innings is still in progress. Habibul Bashar
Qazi Habibul Bashar ( bn, কাজী হাবিবুল বাশার; born 17 August 1972) is a retired Bangladeshi cricketer and the former captain of the Bangladesh cricket team. Under the managership of Dav Whatmore, he has been found to be the most successful captain to lead the Bangladesh team to overcome several milestones. The first test victory of Bangladesh came under his hands in 2004 against Zimbabwe. Under Bashar's captaincy, Bangladesh have beaten Australia, India, South Africa and Sri Lanka in limited overs matches. Russel Premakumaran Arnold (Tamil language, Tamil: ரசல் பிரேமகுமரன் ஆனோல்ட், born 25 October 1973), or Russel Arnold, is a former Sri Lankan cricket team, Sri Lankan cricketer of Sri Lankan Tamil people, Tamil descent, who played all forms of the game. Tyron Hirantha Wijewardene (born 29 August 1961), is a former Sri Lankan cricketer and umpire, elected to the International Panel of Umpires and Referees as Sri Lanka's second umpire. As a cricketer, Wijewardene was a left-handed bowler, taking 9 wickets in his 5 First-class appearances for Saracens Sports Club in 1990/91. He was also a useful lower order batsman, getting one half-century having batted in just 5 innings. Mohammad Rafique (cricketer)
Mohammed Rafique ( bn, মোহাম্মদ রফিক), born 5 September 1970 was a Bangladeshi cricket coach and former cricketer. He was the first Bangladeshi bowler to take 100 wickets in Test matches. Rafique is known his contribution to the cricket world with positions in both the World XI for the Super Series against Australia in 2005 and the Asia XI for the exhibition series against Africa XI in 2007. Deshabandu Umagiliya Durage Upul Chandana (born 7 May 1972), popularly known as Upul Chandana, is a former Sri Lankan cricketer who played both Tests and ODIs. He was more specifically a leg spin bowler and was also an outstanding fielder. Unfortunately, Chandana was an unused squad player in 1996 world cup. Asoka De Silva (cricketer)
Ellawalakankanamge Asoka Ranjit de Silva (born 28 March 1956) is a Sri Lankan cricketer who played in 10 Test matches and 28 One Day Internationals from 1985 to 1992. Asoka was educated at Isipathana College, Colombo. He later became an umpire. Umpiring career De Silva was the first ever Sri Lankan Umpire to be on the Elite Panel of ICC Umpires. Congenige Randhi Dilhara Fernando ( si, දිල්හාර ප්රනාන්දු; born 19 July 1979) is a former professional Sri Lankan international cricketer. He played as a right-handed pace bowler and was a key member of the Sri Lankan teams which finished as runners-up in the 2007 and 2011 ICC Cricket World Cups. Sheikh Tushar Imran (born 10 December 1983) is a cricketer from Bangladesh who has represented his country in Test matches and One Day Internationals (ODIs). In January 2018 he became the first Bangladesh player to score 10,000 runs in first-class cricket. In November 2021, he announced his retirement from first-class and international cricket. Stephen Anthony Bucknor, OJ (born 31 May 1946) is a Jamaican former international cricket umpire. Bucknor umpired in a record 128 Test matches between 1989 and 2009, and also umpired in 181 One Day Internationals during this period, including five consecutive Cricket World Cup finals from 1992 to 2007. Before becoming a cricket umpire, he was a football player and referee and a high school mathematics teacher.
