Band from TV is a charity cover band whose members are all actors from American television series. They donate the proceeds of their performances and recordings to the charities of their choice. Band history Actor Greg Grunberg had the idea for Band from TV after a performance at a House of Blues with several other celebrities garnered a surprising amount of fan interest. Grunberg made several connections that he would later bring together for Band from TV: he appeared on an episode of ''House'' (" Sex Kills") starring actor and musician Hugh Laurie, as well as performing at a separate charity event with James Denton and Bob Guiney. Band from TV made their debut at the 58th Primetime Emmy Awards ''TV Guide'' afterparty and plays high-paying charity concerts and perform for studio albums. ''Idol Gives Back'' was the name of a charitable campaign that spanned two episodes of ''American Idol'' during its sixth season. A second ''Idol Gives Back'' concert and fundraiser occurred on April 9, 2008, during the seventh season of the show. ''Idol Gives Back'' was not held in 2009 due to the economic crisis and recession. The executive producer released a statement saying that it was not the time to be asking for money from the American public. "You Can't Always Get What You Want" is a song by the English rock band the Rolling Stones on their 1969 album ''Let It Bleed''. Written by Mick Jagger and Keith Richards, it was named as the 100th greatest song of all time by ''Rolling Stone'' magazine in its 2004 list of the "500 Greatest Songs of All Time" before dropping a place the following year. Composition and recording Jagger commented on the song's beginnings: "You Can't Always Get What You Want" was composed in the key of C major and was the first song recorded for the album.
