Bahrain Women's National Football Team
The Bahrain women's national football team was first formed in 2003. The team represents Bahrain in international women's football and thus falls under the governance of the Bahrain Football Association; more specifically run by the women's committee at the Association. Although participating in several friendly tournaments, the team played its first official international match against the Maldives on April 22, 2007 and entered the FIFA Women's World Rankings in June 2007 at 111th out of 142. History The Bahrain Women's National Team is the first National Women's Football Team to be formed in the GCC region. This was a big step for the island nation and it is just a part of Bahrain's dedication towards promoting women's sports. The Italy women's national football team () has represented Italy in international women's football since their inception in 1968. The team is controlled by the Italian Football Federation (FIGC), the governing body for football in Italy. Formed in 1968, Italy took part in various unofficial international tournaments, hosting the first unofficial European Competition in 1969 and World Cup in 1970. The 2010 Arabia Women's Cup took place in Bahrain in October 2010. The eight participating teams were Iraq, Jordan, Egypt, Lebanon, Palestine, Syria, Qatar and hosts Bahrain. The Jordan women's national football team ( ar, منتخب الأردن لكرة القدم للسيدات) is the official women's national football team of the country of Jordan. Monika Staab (born 9 January 1959) is a former German football player and currently the technical director of Saudi Arabia.
