Badminton At The 2019 South Asian Games
Badminton at the 2019 South Asian Games was held in Badminton Covered Hall in Pokhara, Nepal between 1 and 6 December 2019. The badminton programme in 2019 included men's and women's singles competitions; men's, women's and mixed doubles competitions along with men's and women's team events. A total of 94 players from seven countries competed in the competition for 7 gold, 7 silver, and 14 bronze medals. Pokhara Rangasala
The Pokhara Rangasala ( ne, पोखरा रङ्गशाला) is a multi-purpose stadium in Pokhara, Gandaki Province, Nepal. It has a capacity of 16,500 spectators. The venue is located to the south of Pokhara at Rambazaar on the eastern bank of Seti river. History The facility comprises a football stadium surrounded by an athletics track of 400m, one 7-A side football ground, a volleyball court, a basketball court, cricket ground and covered hall for games like badminton, karate and other indoor sports. The administrative building of Kaski district sports office and ANFA Kaski lies here. It is the only venue in Nepal beside Dasarath Rangasala Stadium to host international football matches and beside Tribhuvan University International Cricket Ground to host international cricket matches. Sachin Dias
Sachin Premashan Dias Angodavidanalage (born 18 July 1996) is a Sri Lankan badminton player. He won two silver medals and a bronze in singles and doubles at the South Asian Games. He studied at the St. Sebastian's College, Moratuwa Career In his junior stage, Dias participated the 2014 Youth Olympic Games in Nanjing, China. He won a bronze medal in the mixed doubles discipline partnered with He Bingjiao. He later transitioned from singles to doubles. He partnered with Buwaneka Goonethilleka and won a bronze medal at the 2016 South Asian Games. They reached the semifinals in the 2018 Commonwealth Games but lost the bronze medal match to Goh V Shem and Tan Wee Kiong. They also won silver in the 2019 edition of the Games in Kathmandu. Kavidi Ishadika Sirimannage (born 27 September 1995) is a Sri Lankan badminton player. In 2010, she won the mixed doubles title at the Sri Lanka Air Force Championships with Niluka Karunaratne. In 2015, she was crowned as the champion in the women's doubles, and the runner-up in the singles and mixed doubles. In 2016 she helped the Sri Lankan women's team win a silver medal at the South Asian Games, and also won a bronze in the singles and the mixed doubles event. She won the 2017 Summer Season Championships in the women's doubles event with Thilini Hendahewa, and was the runner-up in the singles. She won her first international title at the Lagos International tournament in the women's doubles event with Hendahewa. Thilini Hendahewa
Thilini Pramodika Hendahewa (born 18 September 1996) is a Sri Lankan badminton player. She competed at the 2014 Summer Youth Olympics in Nanjing, China, also at the 2014 and 2018 Commonwealth Games. Hendahewa was the women' singles champion at the 2014 Sri Lanka national championships. She won her first senior international title at the 2017 Lagos International tournament in the women's singles and doubles event. Together with Kavidi Sirimannage, they claimed the gold medal in the 2019 South Asian Games. She became one of the first two Sri Lankans to win a BWF World Tour tournament, when she won the mixed doubles event alongside Sachin Dias at the 2022 Odisha Open.
