Badminton at the 2019 Pacific Games in Apia, Samoa was held on 8–13 July 2019. The tournament included men's, women's and mixed events, and was played at the Faleata Sports Complex in Tuanaimato. The Northern Marianas badminton team competed at the Pacific Games for the first time in this 2019 tournament. Badminton
Badminton is a racquet sport played using racquets to hit a shuttlecock across a net. Although it may be played with larger teams, the most common forms of the game are "singles" (with one player per side) and "doubles" (with two players per side). Badminton is often played as a casual outdoor activity in a yard or on a beach; formal games are played on a rectangular indoor court. Points are scored by striking the shuttlecock with the racquet and landing it within the opposing side's half of the court. Andra Whiteside
Andra Whiteside (born 6 December 1989) is a Fijian squash and badminton player. She has represented Fiji in badminton at the 2006, 2018 Commonwealth Games and at the 2007, 2011, and 2019 Pacific Games. She also represented Fiji in squash at the 2015 Pacific Games. She plays as the third singles against Tahiti, helps the team to clinched the bronze medal. On 3 September 2014, Whiteside won the National Squash Championships as her first major squash appearance, defeating Sharon Wild three to nothing. Rémi Rossi
Rémi Rossi (born 23 December 1995) is a Tahitian badminton player. He started playing badminton at the age of ten, coached by his father Patrick. In 2013, he went to France, studies engineering at Lyon University. His brother Léo Rossi also plays badminton for France which was the medalists at the European U17 Championships. In 2016, Rémi Rossi won silver medals at the Oceania Badminton Championships in men's singles event and men's doubles event partnered with Léo Cucuel. In the men's singles event he beat the No.1 and No.3 seeds Pit Seng Low and Anthony Joe before losing to Ashwant Gobinathan of Australia in the final round with the score 21–17, 21–16.
