Badminton At The 2019 African Games
Badminton events at the 2019 African Games took place between 22 and 29 August at the Ain Chock Indoor Sports Center in Casablanca, Morocco. The badminton program in 2019 included men's and women's singles competitions; men's, women's and mixed doubles competitions alongside a mixed team event throughout the eight days of competition. The tournament served as a qualifier for the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, Japan. Aatish Lubah (born 3 November 1995) is a Mauritian badminton player. He was one of the 14 players selected for the Road to Rio Program, a program that aimed to help African badminton players to compete at the 2016 Olympic Games. Uchechukwu Deborah ukeh (born 12 November 1996) is a Nigerian badminton player. In 2014, she competed at the African Youth Games, and won two gold medals in the girls' doubles and mixed team event. In 2016, she was the women's singles runner-up at the Ivory Coast International, and won the mixed doubles title partnered with Gideon Babalola. In 2017, she and Babalola reach the final round at the Ivory Coast International, but finished in second place.
