The teams were drawn into a knock out bracket on 21 August 2014 at the Asian Games draw ceremony. The final of the 2014 Incheon Asian Games on 22 September was a repeat of the 2002 Busan Asian Games, with the South Korea women's team meeting China. In the end, China won the gold medal after beating South Korea in the final, Japan and India finished 3rd and won the bronze medal. Kim So-yeong
Kim So-yeong (Hangul: 김소영; born 9 July 1992) is a South Korean badminton player. Kim, who attended the University of Incheon, was the triple crowns at the 2013 Summer Universiade, by winning the gold medals in the women's doubles, mixed doubles and team event. Akane Yamaguchi
is a Japanese badminton player who is the reigning two-time World Champion, winning gold in the women's singles at the 2021 and 2022 World Championships. Ayaka Takahashi
is a retired Japanese badminton player who was affiliated with Unisys badminton team. She is an Olympic Games gold medalist, two-time Asian Champion, two-time Asian Games silver medalist, and World Championship bronze medalist. Misaki Matsutomo
is a Japanese badminton player who is a doubles specialist. She won the gold medal at the 2016 Summer Olympic women's doubles alongside Ayaka Takahashi. Despite playing doubles, she was also a finalist in girls' singles at the 2010 BWF World Junior Championships in Mexico. Miyuki Maeda
is a Japanese international badminton player from the Renesas badminton club and later affiliated with Saishunkan team. She participated at the 2008 and 2012 Olympic Games, and also in three Asian Games editions from 2006 to 2014. Career Maeda's first major success was at the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games.
