Badminton At The 1986 Asian Games – Women's Doubles
The badminton women's doubles tournament at the 1986 Asian Games in Olympic Gymnastics Arena, Seoul, South Korea took place from 1 October to 4 October. 15 teams from 9 nations entered for the tournament and the Chinese duo of Lin Ying and Guan Weizhen won the gold in this tournament. with a three-set victory over Korea's Kim Yun-ja and Yoo Sang-hee Yoo Sang-hee is a former female badminton player from South Korea. Yoo competed at the 1985 IBF World Championships, where she won the gold medal in mixed doubles with Park Joo-bong, and the bronze medal in women's doubles with Kim Yun-ja K .... Olympic Gymnastics Arena
The Olympic Gymnastics Arena (), also known as the KSPO Dome since 2018, is an indoor arena located within the Olympic Park in Seoul, South Korea. It has a capacity of 15,000 and can be extended upto 20,000. It was constructed between 31 August 1984 and 30 April 1986, to host the gymnastics competitions at the 1988 Summer Olympics. The roof was designed by David H. Geiger. It is a self-supporting cable dome – the first of its kind ever built – with a four-layer fabric cladding. History Since the Olympics it has hosted a variety of events, notably as a concert venue for both South Korean and international artists. The arena is also infamous due to an incident in early 1992 when American boy band New Kids on the Block abruptly halted their performance after 20 minutes due to a fatal human crush incident where female Korean teenagers swarmed the band to the stage. Verawaty Fadjrin (; 1 October 1957 – 21 November 2021) was an Indonesian badminton player who won international titles spanning from the late 1970s to the end of the 1980s. Tall and powerful, at one time or another she played each of the three variations of the sport (singles, doubles, and mixed doubles) at the highest world level. Amy Chan MBE ( zh, p=Chén Niàncí, t=陳念慈; also known as Chan Lim Chee; born 27 June 1961) is a retired badminton player from Hong Kong who won gold medals in World championships and Commonwealth games.
