Bad Goisern am Hallstättersee is a market town in the Austrian state of Upper Austria in the district of Gmunden. It is part of the Salzkammergut resort area. At the 2005 census Bad Goisern am Hallstättersee had a population of 7,578 inhabitants. History Bad Goisern am Hallstättersee is a town with a long history. It was first mentioned in the 13th century under the name "Gebisham". In 1931 Goisern became a spa town and in 1952 it became a market town. Since 1955 Goisern is called "Bad" Goisern (''Bad'' means bath in German and it is a title given by the government to cities with medicinal or thermal baths). A famous development is the "Goiserer Schuh", a good wearable mountain-shoe. Hubert Von Goisern
Hubert von Goisern (born Hubert Achleitner, 17 November 1952) is an Austrian singer-songwriter and world musician. With his mix of rock music and elements of traditional Volksmusik he has become a prominent exponent of the so-called New Volksmusik and Alpine Rock in Austria, Switzerland and Germany. His stage name ''von Goisern'' refers to his hometown. Hubert von Goisern has won numerous record certifications and several national and international awards. Biography He was born in Bad Goisern. Already interested in music as a youth, he joined the local brass band where he learned playing the trumpet as his first instrument. When conflicts arose with the band leader about the band's repertoire and Hubert's long hair, he had to leave the band and return the trumpet. Strobl
Strobl (or Strobl am Wolfgangsee) is a municipality of the Salzburg-Umgebung District (''Flachgau''), in the northeastern portion of the Austrian state of Salzburg (state), Salzburg, right on the border with Upper Austria. It comprises the Katastralgemeinden of Aigen, Gschwendt, Strobl, and Weißenbach. Geography It lies on the eastern side of lake Wolfgangsee in the Salzkammergut resort region, close to Sankt Gilgen and the Upper Austrian municipalities of St. Wolfgang im Salzkammergut, St. Wolfgang and Bad Ischl. Gosau
Gosau is a municipality in the district of Gmunden in Upper Austria, Austria. Location Gosau is situated along the Gosaubach stream in the Salzkammergut region. The center of the town is at an elevation of 767m (2,516'). 58.9% of the municipality is forested. At the southern end of Gosau there is a road leading to the Vorderer Gosausee, a lake with a view of the Dachstein. Gosau is one of the few Lutheran communities in Austria, with about 71% of the population being Lutheran. Obertraun, Upper Austria is a village in the Salzkammergut, a region in Austria, near the Hallstätter See (Hallstatt Lake) and Hoher Dachstein. Altaussee (Central Bavarian: ''Oid Aussee'') is a municipality and spa town in the district of Liezen in Styria, Austria. The small village is nestled on the shores of the Lake Altaussee, beneath the Loser Plateau. Occupying an area of 92 km², Altaussee is home to 1,777 people. Bad Ischl (Austrian German ) is a spa town in Austria. It lies in the southern part of Upper Austria, at the Traun River in the centre of the Salzkammergut region. Wilfried (born Wilfried Scheutz; 24 June 1950 – 16 July 2017) was an Austrian singer-songwriter and actor. He was born in Bad Goisern am Hallstättersee, Austria. He was known for representing Austria in the 1988 Eurovision Song Contest with his song " Lisa Mona Lisa". He was also an actor with his best known role was in '' Hilde, das Dienstmädchen'' (1986). Johanna Maislinger
Johanna Maislinger (born 23 October 1985) is an Austrian aviator and engineer, currently employed by with the German cargo carrier Aerologic. Since 2010 she has flown Boeing 777-200F freighters, initially as a Senior First Officer and as a Captain since 2018. She achieved wider media prominence in 2018-2020 when she claimed to have secured the necessary financial and logistical backing to go into space as a space tourist, on Soyuz MS-20, though she did not ultimately gain a seat on the mission.
