Boston Archdiocesan Choir School
St. Paul's Choir School is a Catholic choir school located at St. Paul’s Church, Harvard Square in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Founded in 1963, by Theodore Marier, the middle school for boys in third through eighth grades is the only boys' choir school in the United States of America affiliated with the Roman Catholic Church, and one of the few church-affiliated choir schools in the United States. The Choir School educates and trains the choirboys who sing soprano in the choir of St. Paul's, a choir of boys and men. The choir sings for liturgical services at St. Paul's Church and performs primarily in and around the Boston area. It is located within the Archdiocese of Boston. Bács is a Hungarian personal name. It is still used today, although not frequently. Other forms are Bacsa, Bacskó, Bacsó. Etymology Hungarian linguists claim that the word was derivation from the Old Turkic ''baya'' dignitary. Its languageal form was ''Bácsa'', written as ''Bacha''. A similar word meaning chief of the shephards was borrowed from Paleo-Balkanic, Romanian, or Slavic languages. The sounding of the two words became the same as the last "a" was dropped from the personal name. Bács-Bodrog County ( hu, Bács-Bodrog vármegye, german: Komitat Batsch-Bodrog, sr, Бачко-бодрошка жупанија, Bačko-bodroška županija) was an administrative county (Comitatus (Kingdom of Hungary), comitatus) of the Kingdom of Hungary from 1802 to 1920. Most of its territory is currently part of Serbia, while a smaller part belongs to Hungary. The capital of the county was Zombor (present-day Sombor). Name The county was named after two older counties: Bács and Bodrog. Bács county was named after the town of Bács (present-day Bač, Serbia, Bač) and Bodrog county was named after the historical town of Bodrog (which was located near present-day Bački Monoštor), which itself was named after the Slavic tribe of Abodrites (or Bodrići in Slavic) that inhabited this area in the Middle Ages. It was created as a result of World War II, merging the prewar Bács-Bodrog and the southern parts of Pest-Pilis-Solt-Kiskun counties. Bač ( sr-cyrl, Бач, ; hu, Bács) is a town and municipality located in the South Bačka District of the autonomous province of Vojvodina, Serbia. The town has a population of 5,399, while Bač municipality has 14,405 inhabitants. Bacterial Artificial Chromosomes
A bacterial artificial chromosome (BAC) is a DNA construct, based on a functional fertility plasmid (or F-plasmid), used for transforming and cloning in bacteria, usually ''E. coli''. F-plasmids play a crucial role because they contain partition genes that promote the even distribution of plasmids after bacterial cell division. The bacterial artificial chromosome's usual insert size is 150–350 kbp. A similar cloning vector called a PAC has also been produced from the DNA of P1 bacteriophage. BACs are often used to sequence the genome of organisms in genome projects, for example the Human Genome Project. A short piece of the organism's DNA is amplified as an insert in BACs, and then sequenced. Finally, the sequenced parts are rearranged ''in silico'', resulting in the genomic sequence of the organism.
